Tickets for those with disabilities

I'm going in October and was initially going to just buy 2 day - 2 park ticket on the gate due to being disabled and entitled to a carer ticket free (we're staying off site), from what I gather the on the gate price is currently 139euros, however I've noticed the Fantasy AP is not much more at 169 and was thinking by the time we factor in food and buying things I'd probably make back the extra 30euros with the discounts on those plus it would be we could also spend our 3rd day in the parks if we wanted. However I just wanted to confirm are AP holders entitled to get a free carer ticket? also I've read the regular tickets have 10% off for disabled people, is this also for annual passes?

Unfortunately Sarah, your carer would need to buy an AP too, it's not a +1 pass.
I dont believe you get a 10% AP discount for being disabled, but I've never tried. Yes, it's 10% off the gate price though.
You could look at supertrips to see if the AP is cheaper, or get sponsored for 10% off when there.
Check black out dates before purchasing too.

It was my understanding from another member that if the disabled person has a pass you go to the window by the DLH and nicely request a care giver day ticket. Is that not how it works now?

Not for an AP holder. Only for day tickets.

The disabled person needs to have a Park ticket, either an AP or regular park ticket. because you need to show it.
With the disability papers (you need a doctors note, only 3 months old) you can get a 1 day/2 park ticket at the disabled ticket window for the caretaker.
You can only get 1 ticket a day. Which means for a longer trip you need to get a new one everyday.

Thanks Stef, so it is ok that the disabled person has an AP. We can get the caregiver the ticket into the park but we need to get a new one each day. Simple and easy.

Do they not accept DLA letter or blue badge? i've previously read they do. We're only there for 2 nights so going everyday is not a problem, i wasn't expecting the carer to get a free AP like I was buying just ticket to cover the days while we are there

I'm not sure what they accept.
If a DLA or blue badge is proof of the disability they will probably accept it, i am not sure though. You can always contact them to be sure.

The blue badge is proof enough. I checked this when I booked our last trip.

I always bring our blue badge, then all our medical records. For some reason we get the stares. I use my most pleasant French and quietly explain the disability.
