My grandson will turn 3 two days before our trip. Do I need a child ticket or none is we buy the rest of the family their tickets today?

Can you go two days earlier? If he turns 3 while at Disney he is technically 2 for the entire trip, and doesn't need a ticket and can share meals at buffets and such.
