Tickets for 2.5 son

Hi,
I see that all tickets (CB, PH, and Mickey H party) say 3-9 yr old.
My son is 2 and halfish. Turns 3 in Dec.
He is almost as big as our 5.5 yr old.
Do I need to purchase tickets for him?
Will I need his birth certif. if I don't?

Hi,

If it were me and my trip to Disney was before my son turned 3, I would not buy a ticket for him. Yes, probably bring along a copy of his birth certif in case of questions since he is a big boy.

If he's turning 3 before your trip, I'd get the ticket.

When are you going? If you go before he turns 3, no ticket is necessary. After he turns three, a ticket is needed. If it makes you feel better to carry his birth cert. then go for it, but, they rarely ask.

Just a quick addition. If he is 2 when you check in he is considered two for your trip. that is what disney told me when i asked, so if you will be there for his birthday as long as he is two when you check in he will not need a ticket. they also eat for free at all buffets. Have a great trip.

When we took our almost 3 year old (she turned 3 one month after the trip) to WDW, we were also worried. She has always been in the 99% for height/weight and is unusually articulate for her age.

We did not buy her a ticket, but I was nervous that someone would challenge me over her age; however, no one questioned it at all, though one buffet did initially charge her for a child's meal, sort of automatically. I just kindly mentioned that she was not quite 3 and they graciously removed the charge, no problem (she ate a lot, too!).

I'm sure you'll have no problems from Disney with a big-but-not-three year old. I imagine they've seen lots of them!
