I went through a reputable agency to rent DVC.

I can purchase tickets for $200 less than they quoted. I realize I have to book dining through the owner, but what about tickets and memory maker? Can I just purchase those through the Disney website without issues?

Also does the owner have to make the room request, or can I do that myself? I know it was in the contract they *would* do it, just not certain they have to.

TIA!

Not sure where you were planning to buy the tickets. You can buy tickets from Disney and the tickets will automatically go into your My Disney Experience account. You can buy from a place like Undercover Tourist and then you can enter the ticket information into your My Disney Experience account.

You can buy Memory Maker and it will go into your My Disney Experience account.

You cannot order the Dining Plan yourself. The owner would have to do that by contacting DVC Member Services. You cannot contact DVC Member Services directly. Which means you cannot contact them to make the room request; the owner would have to do that for you.

You might be able to make a room request during Online check-in, but this often does not work well. Sometimes the options which show aren't even the correct ones for your resort.

I think you could use Touring Plans to fax in a room request.

My understanding is that if you send in a fax yourself, it will not work for a room request. (So I have never figured out why the Touring Plans faxes work.)

You can buy tickets and MM any way you like.

Room requests need to go via the owner and Member Services. MS will not speak to you.

I was able to make a generic room request via the MDE website when I rented points. Not that it made any difference, but that seems pretty typical of room requests.
Once my rental was finalized, it showed up on MDE as a normal hotel reservation.

Thanks for your reply :) I was planning on booking straight through Disney. Im pretty sure a 4-day ticket is good for any date? Since they are a third party, I'm guessing the extra $200 was based on them acting as a travel agent? I have no idea.

Interesting. I was planning to fax. Maybe I'll go through touring plans instead.

Maybe. But - there are quite a few ticket variations.

What ticket were they quoting you and how many tickets? 4 day park hopper? 4 day magic your way? 4 day park hopper and waterparks? (insert your number of days) Also children 3-9 have a slightly less expensive ticket.

Tickets also now have expiry dates.

Also, have you checked the ticket resellers? There are small reductions on the Disney price plus some other possibilities for savings.

That doesn't make sense. You can mention the agency fwiw. Put the whole URL into the post. That allows for the filter on the boards to work, so if the company is on a naughty list it will be blocked, and if it's not (far more likely) it will be allowed.

That would allow us to maybe help you figure it out.

It was dvcrentalstore.com but I just realized it doesn't specify in the quote whether it's park hopper or not. I'll have to clarify with them =)

Looking at it I'm pretty certain that quote is with hopper. It's the exact amount extra it would be with the hopper.

We are staying at Kidani, and this is funny because the main request I have is for an upper floor. Are there no lower floor rooms there?

All DVC rooms at Jambo are 5th floor and 6th floor. 6th floor is club level only. So, it's not like you have a choice or anything.

ALL of Kidani is DVC, so it's a valid room request there.
