Tickets - Dear Budget Board help me out

I found a blog post back in May that stated the sales of all tickets were halted and those with tickets/AP would be contacted prior to open sales. https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2020/05/an-update-on-walt-disney-world-resort-reservations/
We have our but the rest of the family doesn't. This should be interesting times. I haven't heard from Disney or DVC yet.
How can they know when they were bought - especially the over the counter pases that are hanging on a rack?

That's a good question. I've never bought "off the rack" so I don't know how it works. Maybe when you logged into My Experience and recorded it?

I wonder about super old tickets. I have some from probably 20 years ago with days still left on them. Not in MDE since they're so old, but most definitely bought before June 6. Any advice or guesses?

Are the old tickets...non-expiration,? If so they should be good...if not doubt it...ask when you call or ask when you are at Disney..

Can they be added to MDE? If not, then you may have to call ticketing for an answer. Sometimes Disney IT can add old MYW passes to MDE. But if they are pre-2005, they are old Park Hopper or Park Hopper Plus passes. Those tickets have to be converted to new ticket media before they can be added to MDE. I believe that ticketing needs to take care of PHs and PHPs.

Tickets bought directly from Disney are printed on the spot at the moment of purchase. Tickets bought from a third party may have been printed in advance (expiration date and all) and put on the shelf or in a rack or may be printed on the spot depending on the relationship with Disney. In all cases the date of printing and the trade in value are recorded in Disney's data banks.
