We are going in October for 10 days & have purchased the 14 day ultimate tickets - for flexibility (& price wasn't bad)

Do you think they would be good to anybody else if we left them at the villa? It seem as shame to let 4 days go to waste.

I'm sure someone could make use of them. I have actually seen people handing out unused tickets at the Parks too, as they are exiting.

Depends what you think is best really.

I thought all tickets had finger print recognition now(when it works).:confused3

Yes we had fingerprints taken first day last year. we even had to make sure i had mine and DH had his and not wrong way round so i dont think you could. i dont think they bothered with the younger children though.

We brought 21 day tickets for our jan trip as my dad was taking my neice 2 days after we got back, they had no problems using our 2 adult tickets even though she was only 6 at the time. Also me and my other half went in on each others tickets and didn't have a problem... :confused3 Dont know if we were just lucky...

I don't think you were lucky, I don't think the system is particularly reliable.
Both DH's and My ultimates failed a few times whilst we were there and CM's just went in Guest Services and came running with new ones - no questions asked. With a huge queue behind you they're not gonna hold you up.
This happened at both MGM and the MK.

If the tickets say they are not transferable then you shouldn't leave them. It's breaking the rules and we all want to be honest.

I would leave them and maybe leave a not aswell.

Me and my DH always exchange our tickets with each other (it's a man thing for some reason he thinks it's funny) and never have we been questioned, we usually have annual passes so really these should be checked more.

It's worth a try, but we were out there in August and everyone was fingerprinted, so I guess it depends on whether or not the lucky takers have the where-with-all to pull it off, should they get stopped

Call me cynical, but I believe this 'finger-printing' is just intended to be a deterrant to those people who might consider handing on their tickets to someone else, rather than advanced techonology that stores and compares the fingerprints of everyone who has ever visited the parks. What a database that would need to be!

Like one of the other posters, DH and I have exchanged our tickets to test the system - most times we get through. When we don't, the CM waves us through.

I'd call it 'kidology'.

I agree julie, they have been doing finger printing for many years on certain tickets and never have we been stopped, as you say if it is a problem they ave you through anyway. I think they get so many problems with the finger scan not working correct that they arn't to bothered.

Disney put those there for a reason. Not for people to test the system. :rolleyes1

not only does it stop people transfering tickets throughout the family or friends, but it also stops people buying used tickets from touts. A few people have been conned by this.

I agree with this system. I pay for my ticket with the intention of using it myself, not so my family or any tom dick or harry could use it.

As Mikki said its non transferable. I agree totally if you cant afford a ticket then dont go. Sorry if its harsh, but its Disney and they put in so much effort in everything they do. For this alone I would never con disney.

I am not sure on this one, yes I agree you should not con a company I also dont think its fair on Disney's part not allowing other members of your family to use up part used tickets. If the ticket is paid for and valid I think I should be able to pass it on to someone else but I also understand why they have done it to stop resale.
I was told by a cast member a while back tickets that are purchased together and go thru the fingerprint system together can be used by any member in that party, can't see how it works myself but thats what I was told, If there are 5 members of your party you can use any of the 5 tickets :confused3

Thanks for the comments Wayne - thought I was going to get flamed:sad1:

My thinking was as I had paid for 14 days entry it would be nice to let someone use the 4 days I couldn't. I wasn't going to charge anything - just leave them in the villa.:confused3

LOL! you gotta love the dis, anyone with an opinion (other than disney is god) gets flamed!!

You are trying to do a good thing for someone and good on you, don't be put off by others.
You are gaining nothing but trying to be nice. :goodvibes

No one is trying to con disney! the OP mearly asked if it would be worth while to try and help someone out, she has paid for her tickets and rightly they should be used, why should'nt someone use those tickets that have been paid for? disney already has their money.
You always used to be able to buy peoples unused hoppers etc on ebay (not sure if you can still do this? these might be fingerprinted also now) so it's the same thing, just that the ticket is only vaild for x amount of days.

If I didn't have tickets and someone offered them to me I would gladly take them, this doesn't mean that I can't afford to go, far from it! I have paid disney my fair share over the last few years and also quite a hefty sum for our wedding, I think that was quite a rude thing to say.

No one here is trying to con disney! I think that is probably the other way around..

I was not saying the OP was coning disney. I was saying that people who share tickets shouldnt. That people who intentionally share tickets its wrong. This is a fair point. So your saying that Disney had already have thier money.

Well how about this.

I buy a 14 day ticket and have 3 days left. I give my ticket to my sister. My sister decides that 3 days is enough for her. Instead of her buying her own 3 day ticket she has used mine. Yes Disney has lost out on her ticket.

As for your wedding I dont think this matters at all. I have paid god knows how much to Disney over the years, but that doesnt stop me from paying for my OWN tickets. I dont shout out saying I paid X, Y and Z to Disney, so I will share my tickets or anything else. Like I dont share any tips from Tour Guide Mike.

I dont think what I said was rude at all. Merley pointing out terms and conditions that are stated clearly on the tickets. I am quite surprised that this has not been argued before me considering this is one of the do not ask questions on the dis. :confused3

I think we should agree to disagree about this one.

This is exactly how Disney tickets used to work and should work. Ok its not as clear cut now they do the 14/21 day tickets, but if I buy a 10 day Magic your way I find it a con I can't pass the ticket to my son if I wanted to. They changed the rules purely to maximise profits with no benefit to the ticket holder.
The example you use, Disney have recieved money for 14 days admission. You say you should pay for 17 days for 14 days use. I agree that is the rules and way it should be done but you are being ripped off, I dont blame anyone trying to use a loophole.
I love Disney and their magic but they are a massive company making Millions of Dollars trying to screw you for every penny they can.

Angel, I don't think you or I think Disney is God (not even Walt). It is a matter of honesty. If a contract says non-transferrable then that is the case. I don't know if the 14 day tickets say that but I am presuming they do. If I park on a double yellow line and don't get a ticket that does not mean I was in the right. Maybe more people need a Jiminy Cricket?
