Tickets and Magic Bands Question

Hey everyone -
I'm not sure of the ins and outs of tickets as this is my first time staying off-site and the Magic Bands complicates the situation. Any help is appreciated.

We're staying off-site (Dreams Villas) and are purchasing tickets today (59 days till trip). Apparently I have to pick up my tickets when I get there, but I was going to purchase a set of Magic Bands for the family just to experience the magic the way it is now intended.

1) I believe I can order the magic bands online somewhere - then do I sync them with the tickets when I pick up the tickets?

2) I can't do anything with fp+ until 30 days out - correct?

3) Can I pick up my tickets at a resort instead of dealing with the lines at the parks? I'm thinking of going the night we arrive to a resort to deal with the ticket issues and then I don't have to worry about it the morning we start int he parks.

Again, this is the first time we've ever stayed off-site - so any advice is appreciated.

Thanks much!

1. I don't think so. You do not need MB to make or use Fp+.
You can buy MB when you get to WDW... at a resort or park or DTD.
The MB's can be instantly linked to your MDE account and tickets and Fp+ reservations.

2. Correct. And, they can only made one-day-at-a-time.

3. Yes. At the concierge desk. But, don't expect long lines at the parK ticket booths, anyway.

Only Annual Passholders and those staying at a Disney Owned and Operated Resort can request MagicBands on-line and have them shipped if they have a US mailing address.

If you want to purchase a MagicBand, that can only be done on property.

You can preorder tickets, but not magic bands. The tickets is what allows you to book FP+ at 30 days, so if you haven't purchased and linked your tickets in the My Disney Experience app, you can't book FP+. Magic Bands can be purchased for an additional $12.95 at the parks, but are NOT required to enter the parks or for FP+.

to save a few bucks, i would buy the tickets at undercovertourist or mapleleaftickets rather than purchase them directly.

(you'd still get them in time for your 30 day FP+ window.)

Is there a way to tie a credit card to the magic band if you are an offsite visitor to allow the touch-to-pay functionality?

I'm debating about spending the money on it if the only real benefit we get is to not have to get our tickets out for park-entry and FP. The only other attraction would be as a souvenir of the trip.

No, there isn't. You must have a resort account to charge back to.

I expect that to change at some point. You can already link a credit card directly to your MDX account - but you can't charge back to it in the parks using your MB.

Oh and it was touched upon but not specified. In order to make FP+ at 30 days your tickets must be linked. Make sure you either have them in hard copy by 30 days or are you are emailed the numbers to link them or you won't be able to make FP+ till you have the tickets in hand.

No, the charge through the magic band is specifically to the WDW resort hotel bill, not to a credit card.
