Well, this goes along with all the other posts about upset people and the Jonas Brothers presale this morning. I did get tickets, but they are really not good at all. I will get a refund on the second joining of the fan club, I know. However, I really want to try for better seats. The general public sale begins Saturday at noon. So, my question is: Would I do better being at the Ticketmaster outlet (which is Publix for us) or using ticketmaster online? If I should actually be at Publix, what time would you all recommend arriving? Thanks!

My guess would be to get the tickets online. If you go to an outlet you are at the mercy of the person selling the seats. What you get and what a seller can get are the exact same thing at the exact same time. As long as you have a fast reliable inet connection, you're better off at home. Pre sales stink. You would think that you'd have better seats, but they usually never are. Good luck getting the tix!

Well at least by going to the Ticketmaster counter you will not have to pay Ticketmasters' irritating per ticket convenience fee. Getting to counter early is probably the best strategy. Good luck on getting better tickets.

I recently left the ticketing business after 12 long years. So now I feel that I need to share some of my insider knowledge on the Ticketmaster system. The presale tickets for most fanclubs and presales are a select number of seats from different sections throughout the venue. PRESALE DOES NOT ALWAYS MEAN BETTER SEATS!!! As far as purchasing from the internet or in person at the outlets, you are statistically better off with the internet or phone. The outlet is limited to the number of sellers they have working the window, while the phonebanks are set up with about a hundred people manning the phones and the internet possiblities are infinite. For example, if there are 500 tickets sold per minute, you have two or three sets of tickets being sold at a particular outlet, 100 or so being sold over the phone, while the rest are sold via the automated internet system. Most tours want the first 3 to 5 rows to sell directly to the fans, but that is a very small portion (i.e. at the venue I worked at most recently that was 3 to 5 rows of 65 seats in a venue that seated 15,000). It's all a crapshoot basically. Unfortunately, the only sure way to get "great seats" is to have a contact with the touring company, production company, promoter, or venue as they generally have prime seating blocked for their clients and VIPs. Ultimately it falls to the performer and how he/she/them are involved in the production of their show to ensure that the TRUE fans are in the best seats possible. I wish I could give you some better information on how to get these seats, but hopefully I've helped you gain a little better understanding on how it works.

Unless you can be sure you are the first person in line at the ticketmaster counter I would get them online. If your online you can refresh the page so you get in right at noon so you can get good tickets if there is already a line when you show up you need to wait for the agent to get those people tickets so they could sell out when you are waiting in line. My theory is if you do them online you get to control how fast you get them etc. if you go in person you have to rely on someone else and hope they are fast enough to get in there for you.

Thanks, that is pretty much what I thought, too. I'll be ready Saturday at noon and hoping for the best. No matter what happens, at least we are going back to see them, and my girls will be thrilled. (Well, me, too, but we won't tell them that!) :rotfl:

They put on a great show. I think I was more excited than my girls were.

We saw them with Miley in November. I was very impressed with them. I told the girls after that show that when they came back to the area we would be going again.

I got DD the presale tickets for Charlotte yesterday. Yep, I paid all of Ticketmaters ridiculous fees (don't get me started) plus the fee to join the fan club. I knew we would be getting Lawn Seats, so all I cared about was getting tickets as there are no assigned seats. And I will be at another event with my other DD on Saturday, so waiting wasn't an option.

I'm not sure where they are playing in Atlanta, but if it has GA seating and you are going to get that, then you don't have to worry about the seat assignment.

BTW, regarding the fees: I bought through Ticketmaster 2 tickets at $12 each (total of $24) for a sporting event on Saturday. The fees were an additional $21, so the fees were almost as much as the tickets themselves, but I had no other option on where to buy the tickets.
