Ok, first Universal trip in 12 years and first one staying at a universal hotel.
We have a frontier flight early Friday (3/4) and planning to check in at Hard Rock then head straight to the park.
Stay overnight then a full day in the park Saturday.
Moving to Boardwalk with DVC points Saturday night then home on Sunday.
Because we are flying frontier we are worried something will happen with our flight and the whole trip will be cancelled. Since its so short anyway, if the flight got delayed too much it wouldn't be worth going. I know at that point, we would lose the cost of the one night at Hard Rock.
My questions is what would happen to our tickets if we never made it? Is it like Disney where the value of the ticket could be used to schedule another trip and if so how long could we use them or would we lose the value of the tickets as well?
Or would it be better to buy our tickets once we get there on Friday? Is there only downside to doing that?

The downside to buying onsite would be lines and that the gate price is higher than online. And that ticket prices could increase before your trip.
However, you can buy online the morning of your trip to avoid 2 of those concerns. Heck, you can buy online while Ubering to Hard Rock and pick up the tickets at Hard Rock's ticket desk.
