Hi.

I am travelling to Disney in December for 14 days (getting a 10-day ticket) plus the Free Dining. Is it possible to upgrade the 10-day ticket to an Annual Pass?

See the ticket sticky thread. It explains upgrading, bridging, and why it's probably beneficial to use your ticket at least once before upgrading, as well as what amount or value will be applied to the upgrade.

... give you credit ...
The correct calculation is in the form of your paying the difference between the brand new cost of what you want (the annual pass) and the brand new cost (at the ticket booth) of what you have (the partly used 10 day ticket) as of the day of upgrade regardless of the usage history. A new (as opposed to renewal) AP correctly starts on the date that the submitted ticket (the 10 day) was first used.

Submitting an unused ticket, it's treated as a trade-in as opposed to an upgrade and the calculation is a little different and may result in a higher than expected additional amount to pay.

You can upgrade your ticket to an Annual Pass. Be sure to use your original ticket first, at least once, to enter a theme park. So if there's been any price increase since you bought your original ticket, you won't owe that during the upgrade process. You have to upgrade before your original ticket is completely used up, and it has to be done no later than 14 days from first using your original ticket.

They will give you credit for any unused days including all of them if it's not used at all.
This is incorrect. You will get credit for your entire ticket, including the days you have used. How it works is, the Annual Pass is dated to the first day of using your original ticket. Therefore it doesn't matter from which day of your original ticket you upgrade to AP. Best to do it sooner, rather than later, so you can get AP benefits and discounts at WDW.
