Ticket upgrade to AP

I have a 6 day pass as part of our pkg--but I am planning to upgrade to an AP. I read here that I should use the pass at least once before upgrading. The 6 day pass is a park hopper with wp & m add-on but I only want to upgrade to a regular AP. Am I understanding correctly that I should upgrade prior to using any of the "extra" features? Also, can I do the upgrade in MK at GS--or do I need to exit MK and go to ticket window? Our first park day will be at MK. Thanks for the help--leaving in 10 days!!!

1) Yes, use it once before upgrading

2) Yes, upgrade before using extra features. Be aware that you will no longer be able to use the extra features after getting regular AP (assuming you know that but just wanted to be sure).

3) Yes, GS inside MK should be fine.

MK Guest Relations inside the park is at City Hall. MK Guest Relations outside the park is to the right of the front gate (if looking toward the Castle).
