If I have a 10 day MYW hopper ticket, that I use 8 days of during the trip, if I go to guest services on the 8th day to add the non-expiring option. (with only 2 days left on the ticket). Do you know what the add on option would cost? Also, if I then return to Disney 6 months later with a 10 day non-expiring ticket with 2 days left, what would be the charge to change that ticket to a AP?

The reason I ask is that I am going this Sept for 8 days and I am thinking about an AP for a possible return trip, but the return trip is not 100% guarenteed. Therefore, I am not 100% sure I should buy an AP, if I an not 100% I can use it.

You cant purchase the non expiry option for leftover days, it must be purchased for the entire block of # days on the origional ticket.

Its still not a bad deal - the information can be found at wdwinfo.com ticket pages and allearsnet.com

When I checked out changing from 10 day hopper, to the non expiring one, it was $100 more.

Right, the non-expiration option on a 10 day ticket is $100, regardless if you have 9 days left or 1. It is also the same whether you have the pluses option with pluses left or not.
