Good morning fellow Dis'ers

We currently have four unused 5 day MYW tix with the park Hopper and No Expiration add-ons. We are arriving at the World in July and the kids have already convinced us to go again in 2012, so I know I can upgrade my current tickets but was wondering if it is possible to add 5 more days with only the no expiration option since we really don't tend to park hop that much. If this is allowed, how would the days and options be used, for example first use of a day, would that deduct one park hopper use even if we don't park hop??

Thanks for the help.

There shouldn't be an issue as long as the ticket you want costs more than the gate value of the ticket you want and you don't use the Park Hoper option.

As long as you don't park hop it can be "refunded" just like the WPF&M.

There is no "park hopper use," there are just days admissions on a ticket; it's not like the WP&M. If you have a park hopper, and you go to the first park, you've used a day's admission. If you don't go to another park that day, you've still used a day's admission. If you go to 3 other parks that day, you've still used a day's admission.

If you don't have the park hopper option, and you go to the first park, you've used a day's admission. If you go to another park, the computer won't let you in, since that day's admission is tied to the first park.

If you don't use the Park Hopper option on your current ticket, you should be able to apply the value of the Park Hopper to the 10 day NE non-park hopper ticket. Just realize that none of your days will have park hopping allowed. Park hopping is a flat fee for all days on your ticket, no matter how many days are on that ticket.

If you do use the Park Hopper option before you upgrade, you can't remove it from your ticket anymore.

To say it a slightly different way: You either have hopping on a ticket, or you don't. You can't have a ticket with some hopping days and some no-hopping days.

If you haven't hopped at all, I've read that you can apply that cost towards an upgrade, but then you have no hopping on your ticket.

If you just upgrade the ticket you have to 10 days, then you have a 10-day hopper. You can hop every day, one day, or no days; it doesn't matter.

Good morning,

Thank you for all your great responses...now we have to decide, hop or not to hop on this current trip :)

Hopping is key for us... we like to arrive early, leave for a long afternoon break, and have the freedom to go somewhere completely different in the evening.

Not to say that we always go somewhere different - or anywhere at all.

I suppose it's just the feeling that you have full access passes - and can go anywhere you want. We also rent a car, so we cut down travel time significantly when "hopping".

Edit: I didn't see you already had tickets- but since your tickets are unused, you can use the value of those 5 day NE tickets to the AP.

On that note, if your trip will fall within one year of this trip (IE you'll be going again before July 2012), it will be cheaper to get Annual Passes-

An adult 10 day NE with park hopper is $563 with tax
An adult Annual Pass is $531 with tax.

The annual pass also entitles you to free parking if you're offsite, merchandise discounts, and resort discounts. It, of course, also allows hopping.

Just food for thought.

thank you Stargazer....that's why I love these boards, I never would have thought "outside the box" like that, annual passes never occurred to me. Due to Easter being late this year, and snow days adding to the school year, we pushed our usual April trip back to June and then again to July. Due to this years pushbacks, it looks like AP's would be the way to go especially if we go either next April, June or July of 2012. :cool1:

thanks again...now I have something else Disney related to research :goodvibes
