My sister and me both got a free 3 day/1 park pass through a points program. It's an actual ticket, not a voucher. We want to upgrade this ticket to a 3 day/2 park pass for her and an annual pass for me. Can we exchange these tickets, and just pay the difference in cost, or because they were a free ticket, do we have to pay for the whole pass?

It's almost impossible to know about this ticket. They will have to scan the ticket at Guest Services to see the value. The value might be zero or it might scan as the price of a 3 day/one park ticket.

That is sad news. Can the issuer have any insite on this?

I won 2 free one day tickets and was hoping to upgrade them. Now I am nervous I won't be able to.

Look at the back of the ticket. Does it say complimentary on the ticket? If it does, the value is $0. If it doesn't say complimentary, it may be able to be upgraded. There is no guarantee though. You can call Guest Services at 407-224-4233 and choose Option 2 to speak to a Guest Service coordinator.

We just returned from our first ever (amazing!) visit to Universal Orlando, and our adult daughter had a 3 day 1 park pass reward issued by Aeoplan. We visited guest services during our first day at IOA and upgraded her ticket to a 3 day park to park pass for $15 extra, well worth it. Airline reward park passes are not the same as complimentary passes, as the provider (Aeoplan, Air miles, etc...) actually pays for these in exchange for your points. If it's not written 'complimentary' on the back of your passes, they should have a full $ value. As Phantom said, there are no guarantees, but if your passes are like my daughter's there should be no problems upgrading them. I will try to post a thread about our delightful experiences at both IOA and US really soon! :cloud9:

summer of '09 I tried to upgrade @ the gate a ticket that i purchased from ticketmaster using an affinity site (i.e. decent discount) and was told 'no'. Didn't argue the matter, might have been a different story if we had taken the time to speak to guest relations but were running late & didn't want to wait in another line.:confused3

Thank you for this reply! I got mine through Aeroplan, so this makes me really happy to hear!
