Ticket upgrade question

hi, if we can't decide whether to do 3 or 4 days at DL....can we buy the 3 day hopper now, then if we decide to stay 1 more day while we are there, add 1 more day at the gate for the $20 or whatever it is? or do we have to buy the extra day ala cart for the $90ish price?

I'm fairly certain that you can upgrade any ticket to a more expensive ticket. The one thing to be aware of if you do this is that you will be charged the GATE price for the 4 day hopper and end up paying $30 more than you would if you just bought the 4 day hopper online. For example, if you buy the 3 day hopper online at $184, you will be paying a $45 difference to upgrade to the $229 4 day gate price. Online the difference between the two is only $15.

When are you going? I just saw a deal for a 5 day Hopper for the price of 3 day hopper, but you have to go before Sept. 31

I like Ariel224's explanation.

If you think there's much of a chance that you will want that fourth day and you can afford it, I'd just get a fourth day. You can possibly use it on your entry day to see some nighttime entertainment, or your departure day and perhaps get a few solid hours of park time in before the crowds hit and you have to leave. Now obviously if you have a really large party, a fourth day may be a significant expense (though $15 a person still isn't bad!). But Disney makes it so cheap to add additional days to your hopper, I will personally always add on another day for a small percentage more. I think about it like days 1-3 cost over $60 each, so even adding a few more hours on for $15 is a fair deal.

That offer seems to be the same as you can buy on disneyland.com right now. Both end Sept 30, with the ticket expiring on or before 10.13.

Since the op is going in 7 months+, that's November unless I'm counting ALL wrong.

Oh gosh don't apologize! Not everyone has signatures "on", not everyone looks, don't worry about it.

Only reason I really noticed is b/c our trip is not that long after hers, though we're going to WDW for the first time.

Not so sure about the upgrade cost as noted above. We stayed offsite and purchased 3 day hoppers at a discounted price at the hotel. We then decided to upgrade to AP's. Disney credited us the full gate price of a 3 day hopper towards the AP. They did not care how much we actually paid for them.
