My 9 year old is at Disney World now with her dad. She has a 5 day park hopper pass which she used to enter the park today. He just upgraded her pass to the platinum pass. They charged $507.11 for the upgrade. By my math, it should be $360 plus tax as the difference between the two passes. Can someone please help me figure out what went wrong in the upgrade or how this happened? They are using a package with the dining plan so the original tickets were bought direct from Disney.

According to the website, a 5 day child hopper ticket is $389 plus tax and the annual pass is $749 plus tax. The price difference is $360 and the tax on $360. That is a far cry from the $507.11 he was charged.

I attached a copy of the receipt.

What went wrong is that the CM did not price bridge the ticket. Tickets that are a part of a package are sold at a discount to Walt Disney Travel Co. by Disney Parks. It looks like the CM only gave you credit for what Parks sold the ticket to WDTC for and that should not be the case.

But on top of that, your math is off. Your daughter is 9. She had a child's 5-day hopper, which has a gate value of $414.29. A Platinum AP costs $ 797.69, regardless of whether it is sold to an adult or a child. The difference between the two is $383.70, not $360.

Thanks. How do I get this fixed? I have a copy of the receipt and the complete gift card number with security codes that was used to pay, but I am in Minnesota. if it is at all possible for me to fix it without him having to take more time out of his vacation, I want to do that.

They are staying at the Grand Floridian if a manager there is able to fix it.

If you want to fix it you will need to call customer service this would be your only option for you. Otherwise have your DH find a CM who knows how to bridge a ticket.

He needs to take that receipt, go to Guest Relations and get a supervisor involved. There is nothing you can do from your end.

Unfortunately, the best way to take care of this would be for your husband to go to Guest Relations at one of the parks. You might be able to get someone to handle it over the phone but it will probably take a very long time too navigate the phone chain with no guarantee of success. The lobby concierge and hotel manager will not be able to correct this for him.

After much going around in circles and speaking to lots of cast members from assorted departments, I was able to reach a cast member in ticketing who was able to look up the transaction and correct the error over the phone and credit the gift card that was used to pay for the ticket upgrade for the $123.71 price difference (which was due to the fact that they had not bridged the ticket originally). I can see the credit has appeared back on the gift card I paid with, so my problem was resolved. Thank you for all of your help!

The person I spoke to said it would have been easier for him to go in person to deal with it. I was trying to avoid that option if possible. We have been divorced for several years and he is on vacation with our daughter, his 2nd wife, their two children, and his wife's parents and sister. It was nice of him to take the time to upgrade the pass and I didn't want to take any more time away from their family vacation if I could find a way to fix it from here.

Thanks again for the help everyone!
