Ticket upgrade for DVC member

Hello there. We are trying to figure out the best way to arrange tickets for my dw. My company is sending me to the world for a business trip. She will join me later in the week and we will extend our trip. She does not have her own member card but we will be purchasing aps. Since I will still be in meetings when she arrives I won't be able to activate her ap when she arrives. So my question is.......has anyone bought regular park hopper passes and then upgraded them to the dvc discounted ap? Aps are the best choice for us since we will likely make at least two more trips in the next year. Thank you for your help!

Is her name on the deed as a co-owner, or is the deed in your name alone? If she is listed as a co-owner, she should have received her own membership card. If she is a co-owner, she can get a temporary membership card at the sales center at Saratoge Springs, then purchase her AP.

Since she qualifies living in the same household, can you activate the ticket yourself. I know I've done it several times without the person being present. You could also get the ticket and have her activate it while presenting your card as proof. Both of these issues have minor risk of failure but are likely to work for you. Also if you are going to a conference, there are frequently conference specific tickets that might be a better value, you may want to check if applicable.

We talked about the conference tickets, but we have a trip booked for June already and we are also considering a holiday trip as well. So we will use the passes at least two trips.

When is this trip? If it's fairly soon consider wether you could get 3 more trips in if you wait for June to get the AP and do the conference tickets for this one.

We just went in December and booked a package at BC with one-day tickets. We were able to upgrade our one-day tickets to DVC APs at the ticket booth.
