DD8 has AP but is on the reservation so will be receiving a 7 day MYW with the rest of them. I was going to save it for renewal but now DD19 is meeting the BF there too. Could I use the extra 7 day child this trip instead, and upgrade it to an adult MYW by paying the difference? As long as it's not used, it wouldn't neccessarily be attatched to her but I wasn't sure if the value could be applied to an adult's MYW or only another child's pass?:confused3

This probably won't work for you this trip, but for others or for your next trip, just get a one day pass for everyone and then you can adjust each individual ticket to what you need. That way you only have to pay for a one day ticket for the person with an AP.

Sorry but I don't have an answer to your original question.

I think you can do this, as long as you upgrade to a 7-day adult MYW ticket with the same entitlements (hopping if the child ticket has hopping, etc.). This is info from Cheshire Figment's sticky on tickets - specifically post #9 for child tickets:

However, if the ticket has never been used, the ticket may only be upgraded to a ticket with at least the same entitlements and the guest must pay the difference.

Here is the link to the whole sticky:

As the PP stated, for future trips, buy everyone a one day pass and upgrade the ones you need to.

THanks, we usually do buy only 1 day passes (and only if neccessary for free dining or another pckg option) but we're traveling with family/friends in a group and DD8 is in their room with the 4/3 promotion. At the time it was booked she didn't have an AP but does now so won't be using her MYW.

If it was just a one day, it'd be no big deal but I just hate to tie up over $200 in today's economy if we can apply it elsewhere instead. I don't mind helping, but I'm trying to keep a little bit of the wealth right here at home until it's no longer possible...;)

There is no problem as long as the ticket is unused. You could even get it done right at your resort at check-in (or you might have to go to the Lobby Concierge). All you will have to pay is the difference between the original value and the new value (plus tax).
