Ticket updates at MK guest services

hello,
we have old unused no expiry ticket which are fine to make FP selections but need to be updated at Disney guest services before we can use them for park entry and FP. We thought we'd be able to drive to a park or DTD the day before our first park visit but that is looking doubtful now.

If we want to be rope drop ready (9am opening, staying offsite), how long do the lineups and transactions take at guest services? My thought was to aim to be at the TTC by 7:45, which would put us at MK entry by 8:00 ish...does that make sense? Our party would go stake a spot for rope drop, leaving us a good 35-40 minutes to get things settled. We do have young kids, this will be in July, I am also worried about being out in the heat too long...

Thoughts, ideas? We do fly in to MCO airport, can the transaction happen anywhere else in Orlando?

I have no answers but I figured I'd bump your cause!

One piece of info you might want to add are your travel dates, that might make a difference when it comes to ticket line estimates.

I drove to DTD today. It's ugly, sure, but I made great time and no visible closures to me. Thats where we always go to activate tix the day before etc.

If you can use them for fp+, what else needs to be updated? You should be good to go.

Unfortunately, the tickets have no rfid so they have to be changed. Tks for the replies everyone!

The Guest Relations and/or ticket booths at TTC (and those just outside the MK gates) will be open about 7:30 AM on a day when MK opens at 9AM (with or without an AM EMH at MK that day.)

If you want to be safer, arrive about 7:45-ish (that should put you ahead of a lot of the crowd) and do your "upgrade" (actually, just a quick "re-issue") to your RFID tickets. The actual transaction, when you get to the CM, should only take a couple of minutes.
