Ticket to AP?

I have a 5 day ticket I bought for a trip. I now have decided to schedule another trip so I would like to exchange my 5 day for an AP. Can I do the exchange over the phone or online? I would prefer to use gift cards to pay the difference but I can use the gift cards while in the parks if have to. I would like to set up fast passes but can't if I don't have my AP before I go. TIA

Upgrading a ticket can only be done in person.

If the 5 day is linked, you can make FP+ with it. Then upgrade a at a park.

If you purchased the ticket at a discount (AAA, Undercover Tourist), be sure to use the ticket for park entry before upgrading. It brings it up to full get price for the purpose of the exchange.

Thanks for the info. One more question? I bought the tickets through disney. Can I only upgrade at the parks or can I upgrade at the my resort, the Beach Club? Well, 2 questions. If only at the parks, can I upgrade at the entrance to Epcot from the Boardwalk?

1. Can be done at any ticket window or Guest Relations at any park, at TTC or two locations in DTD.

2. The resorts (Concierge desk) can upgrade tickets EXCEPT they cannot do anything in regard to APs
(so no.)

3. That is Epcot's International Gateway, and yes you can do the upgrade outside that gate. See #1 for other options.
