Ticket to AP Conversion with Blockout Dates

Is it still the case that you can upgrade from a regular ticket to a seasonal AP even if you used the tix on a Blockout date? So if I want to go into the parks on Jan 2 but it’s blocked out, I can purchase regular tickets and covert them to APs on Jan 3?

Can't swear it still works, but I did this in spring 2022 with no problem.
