Ticket "swapping"? Is this possible?

Hello! I've been playing around with a trip in September back down to the world and have a few questions that I was hoping that the folks here could help me with. Please let me know if this is possible...
The plan is to stay at Caribbean Beach ( first time there ever! SO EXCITED!!!) My husband and I are coming from Alaska and would meet up with my daughter and her husband who live in Orlando. They both work at the parks so they do not need tickets or lodging. My thought is to put them in our room with us so that I can add them to the dining plan ( also in case we have drinks at dinner and then they have a bed they can get to without driving) and also so they can have access to the resort pool when we take our afternoon pool/nap/rest break midday.
I know if they are in the room and there is "free dining" I would need to buy 2 day park tickets for everyone in the room. Is there a way that I can take their 2-day tickets and add it on to mine and my husband's magic bands? The ticket board states that unused park tickets can be transferred to another person but I was hoping to hear from folks who have done this or have experiences with ticket "swapping"...
Sincerely not trying to scam the system or "stick it to Disney" or anything that nefarious but was hoping to use the resources in the most economical way.
Thanks for your responses and sorry for so much back story... just trying to give you the whole picture

Tickets that are booked with a package cannot be transferred to another person. I've tried asking this question before :(

It might have changed post-magicbands, but in the past you could save the tickets from the package and you could give them to others, as long as they hadn't been used.

Is it your intention for you and your DH to use your assigned 2-day tickets, then use the 2-day tickets assigned to your DD and her DH?

OP have you asked your daughter and SIL about their free tickets they have and discounts they can get you by at least one of them staying in the room and them booking it?

I point this out because you may not need to buy tickets at all and they may be able to get a discounted dining plan without a ticket purchase.

My DN did this a few years back.

Two other points, free dining generally has a minimum day ticket purchase length and using two full tickets in one trip is generally a waste of money.

You will have to pay extra adult charges for them in the room. I think moderates are $15 per person per night.

I would ask them to check into cm discounts. I stayed with a cm friend at WL last year, we got a room discount plus discounted dining.

How long is your trip? $30/night for the extra adults, plus $400 for 2 adult 2 day tickets, and you're probably better off just paying for their meals. Charge it to your magic band if it makes you feel better about it.

Also wanted to add that with a cm room discount with the cm "staying in the room" there isn't the same everyone has to have the same ticket issue.

Yes please do the math. :teacher:

In November, my DS and DDIL booked a pkg and got 2 day tickets each. He had guest services put their APs "on top" on their MBs. When we got home, he transferred them to me and DH online on MDE site as we pay for all their tickets. When DH & I went to DW in Jan., we went to GS to claim our DVC APs from a voucher. The CM put our APs "on top" on our bands. "On top" was the CMs words, not mine but a good description I believe. My plan is to use the 2 day tickets to upgrade to DVC AP renewal. Hope that is doable and as painless as this experience.

I agree with pp, ask your family to book your room under their CM discounts. Usually the discount is better than the "free" dining, especially if they are staying in your room. My sister (also FL resident and CM), books our rooms and gets us a great deal. Good luck!

To expand on my PP, about 5 years ago my niece got 50% off a WL suite and the dining plan for $20 per person. She also had a number of free tickets and her Maingate passes so they only need a few days for tickets for this trip. For a 3 or 4 day trip it cost around $2,000 for 5 in a Deluxe.

Again CM's don't have to get ticket packages to get the Dining Plan since Disney assumes they are going to use their own free admission and the various free admissions they get throughout the year for their guests.

I agree with Chartle. As long as the CM is booking and staying in the room with you, it is a discount of 50%.

Have them check which resorts have the offered discounts during your planned visit. CM discounted dining plans aren't always offered but you won't really need a regular-priced Dining Plan as there will be CM discounted dining at most TS restaurants.

If tickets are unused, they can be transferred. But I agree, if you have a CM who can book for you and stay with you, you do not need free dining.

There is one downside, the tickets/admissions you get from a CM you don't always get in advance so it may impact FP+ selection.

I guess I'm curious on why your Daughter didn't bring CM discounts when you started to plan this trip.

Sadly we couldn't take advantage of my Niece's discount because we would have been 5 in the room and that narrows down the selection and raises the price. Our trip was the week before Xmas 2013 so Holiday rates and the cheapest with discount was still close to $200 a night. We like an close off site property thats half that with real breakfast and since we had a car offsite transportation wasn't an issue.

It really depends where you stay, your guest number, and if you want the DP regardless. CM discounts are great, especially if you go deluxe, but if you plan moderate or value the FD might actually be better. Four adults in one room could go either way. You have to pay the additional adult charge regardless of offer.

Example...(pricing just an average). CBR about $250 a night. CM 50% will save you $125 a night. FD for 4 at CBR will save you $240 a night.

Thank you all for your responses. I guess a little more backstory is needed...
My daughter actually works in Epcot restaurant at a vendor so she does not get all of the CM discounts/tickets. My son-in-law is a CM but has family that lives in Florida so I try not to have him overuse his privileges on us (mainly his gate pass). My daughter has 4 comp tickets already so I was hoping that if they would allow it that I would be able to add the unused ones onto my hubby and my magicband so that we would end up with 6 days in the parks with a few resort days ( or do mini golf, Splitsville or other non-park activities)
We did look into the CM room discount and possible discounted dining and the figures actually ended up being more expensive than the FD offer for 4 people. We would be coming down for 10 nights and the CM discount of 50% brought CBR to $1096.04 for the room and it would be another $2000.00 for dining ( $49.99 x 4). Conversely, if FD ( if it happens) would be $2997.92 for 4 people, each with 2 day base tickets and dining would be included.
We have played around with our dining selections in distripplanner.com and for the restaurants we have chosen , DDP is a good option for this trip.
Of course, that is assuming that FD will be offered in September and that CBR will be on the list of possible resorts. So it's still a whole bunch of maybes in the planning but those are the numbers we have so far.
And the FD numbers would go up if I needed to purchase more tickets for me and hubby which is why I was curious about adding their tickets from the package...
Thanks for your responses - I wasn't sure if it was possible so I thought I would ask before I called

Sounds like you've done quite a bit of number crunching. I just wanted to mention...if you do a free dining package, in addition to the the minimum ticket purchase all guests in the room must have the same ticket length. So if you only wanted to purchase the minimum 2-day tix for DD/DSIL, you and DH would also only have 2-day tix until you arrive (they can be upgraded after arrival without impacting others in the party). So you wouldn't be able to schedule FP+ in advance for all your park days...

Enjoy your vacation!

You've done some calculations, except about the tickets. I don't understand if your DD and her DH are using the comp tickets or you're using the comp tickets. I understand that you want to use the 2-day package tickets from your DD and her DH, in addition to your 2-day package tickets, for a total of 4 park days.

Walt Disney World ticket prices are front-loaded, and very expensive for the first 3 days. Then Day 4 costs about $21, and after that, Day 5 thru Day 10 cost $10.65 apiece (including tax). So, using two sets of 2-day tickets would be much more expensive than just upgrading your 2-day tickets to 4-day tickets. Here's the breakdown:
2-day ticket ($200.22) plus 2-day ticket ($200.22) = Total Cost $400.44
2-day ticket ($200.22) upgraded to 4-day ticket = Total cost $313.11
Savings: $87.33 per person, or $174.66 for both you and your DH

If you used your DD's comp tickets, for a total of six park days, Day 5 and Day 6 cost would be free. If you upgraded your park tickets from 2-day tickets to 6-day tickets, total cost would be $334.41, or $21.30 additional per person ($10.65 per day x 2 days).

Upgrading your tickets would be the smart thing to do. Save your DD's and her DH's 2-day tickets for another trip, or sell them or gift them to someone. They are worth a total of $400.44 towards future use. If you just wanted to keep them listed on your DD's and her DH's MDE files, that is one choice. Or, your DD could transfer the tickets to you and your DH, so that you each would have two sets of tickets. In that case, you would have to visit Park Guest Relations outside the park entry in order to prioritize which tickets you would be using to enter the parks. Another choice would be to make up a phantom person on your MDE account and transfer the unused tickets there. Then they could be transferred back to you (thru MDE) in the future. Last, and my choice, would be to visit Park Guest Relations and have them physically remove the extra 2-day tickets from your MDE account and place them on plastic ticket media that you could take home and save for future use, sale or gifting.

As PP wrote, when you get 2-day tickets with your package, you can only book FP+ 60 days in advance for 2 days. You all have to have the same tickets until you check-in, then each person's ticket can be upgraded individually. After a ticket upgrade, additional FP+ bookings can be scheduled for the additional park days added.
