Ticket refunds for closing?

NO! They will not refund, only extended. I started another thread about this.
I think I can live with that as long as it's extended until next year. Between travel ban, training and deployment, it doesn't look like he can go until later 2021.

It's too early to know what will or won't possibly become available when all the new "rules" regarding the park closures are all decided.

Any info obtained now may or may not be correct after more information is decided.

We had tickets scheduled for 3/17-3/20 and I called yesterday and was told we could use the tickets any time this year or use the credit towards tickets in the future. I told her I didn't think we would be able to go anytime soon and she said they could refund the tickets no problem! I was beyond ecstatic. We had 2 three day park hopper passes. I was expecting to be on hold forever but my call was answered within a minute.

Sorry if question was already asked - our FP window is quickly approaching, and was waiting for some more info regarding openings ( like most of us !)

Supposed to hear down July 14 - no package

Need to purchase tix next week

Leaving from nyc, so not sure if travel restriction would be lifted , but if I decide to cancel, no refund possible, correct ?
( Should add that due to kids school schedules, won't be able to go until 2021- I know a Dec 31 2020 was.mentioned somewhere )

If I get a credit , is there an expiration date ?

TIA for any help !

Assuming a WDW resort reservation, that should be fully refundable up until 7 days (5 days?) prior to check-in.
Tickets - you can call to ask about a refund. Most likely no, but the tickets will hold value to use towards new tickets in 2021 (or beyond, no expiration on the credit). As of right now, July tickets are not expected to have an extended expiration into December, but that does depend on the opening date.

Can you switch your reservation to a package? Then you'd have more flexibility on a ticket refund.

It's a split stay but only using the tickets for first part of trip, so yes - might end up doing that - thanks !

I have date-specific tickets for a trip in mid-June. According to the policy posted on the Disney website, if the parks remain closed at that time, my tickets will automatically be extended until December. But what if the parks are open, but we decide not to come? (This would be due to our feeling uncomfortable with the risk of travel, combined with our sense that the modified experiences won't be worth the money to us.) The official website doesn't seem to say anything about that. Can we keep those tickets, and use them at a later date? Can we get a refund? Can we apply the cost of those tickets to future ticket purchases? And how, exactly, do we do these things? (If it helps, we purchased the tickets back in January from Undercover Tourist. They were not part of any package.)

Thanks for any help you can provide.

The *normal* rules are that you can change your tickets to any date this calendar year with no penalty, but if the price of the new dates are higher, you’ll pay the difference in price between what the tickets were worth when you bought them and what the current list price is of the new dates. You can do that in the app, by phone, or on the Disney World website.

If you choose not to go this year the tickets would expire and become basically a coupon off of the purchase of new tickets in the future, although using those “coupons” may require a trip to Orlando (Disney has stated they are trying to make them useable online but I haven’t seen anyone post that they’ve been successful so far). The “coupon” would be worth what the face value of the ticket was when you bought it (not the lower amount that you paid UT).

That’s the normal rules however no one knows if Disney will add additional flexibility or not.

Now that you need a ticket tied to your account for FP+ you'd think they would fix this little hiccup.. I can't just pop down to Orlando from Oregon a couple months before my trip. :confused3

There had been reports this past winter of folks who upgraded expired tickets via phone. I think it was fairly new not long before the shutdown. That should be an option once people start making plans for 2021 (and pricing is released).
