anyways I thought I read somewhere that there are deals on tickets such as

a Mon through Fri ticket

or we were thinking of a 10 day non expring or annual pass since we know well go next yr wed just have to move the trip up a week to get at least 2 trips on the 1 pass

out of those last 2 options what would be the most resaonable

any other tips on tickets --

really looking forward to our first stay as members

also were at BLT lake view what would a good area for our first stay weve never stayed there before

also tips on the resort would be great

one more is there like a a fast food area for burgers and hot dogs and such

You can buy your tickets from any authorized ticket broker often cheaper than from Disney. Disney has canceled the non-expiration ticket sales and they are no longer available. If you qualify, you can buy a DVC discounted gold AP.

We have the Disney Gold Pass, which we have used for 3 trips. If you can go twice or more in a year, it is a good deal, since the multi-day tickets must all be used within a 14 day period.

We signed up by phone through Member Services. Then we picked them up at Guest Services where you show ID and your DVC Card.

The multi day tickets are useful if you only go once a year. Also useful for your guests.

There are not currently any DVC discounted park tickets other than annual passes. DVC sometimes has special promo tickets other than annual passes but the last one -- the one you mention which also allowed you to purchase five days for the price of four - - was available between January and March 2016 but not since (and its "discounted" price for the five day pass was actually a couple dollars more than the price you could get the same five day ticket for through Undercover Tourist)

There are three different annual passes you can purchase at a special DVC price, The Platinum Plus which gives you year round entry into both theme parks and water parks, the Platinum which provides year round entry into theme parks, and the Gold Pass, for entry into theme parks for most of the year but it excludes the two Easter weeks and two weeks around Christmas. The Gold Pass, the lowest cost of the three, is available only to DVC members and Floridia residents. If the time in Jan you are considering going includes Jan 1 and 2, 2017, the Gold Pass would exclude those dates, and it will also exclude Jan 1, 2018. If your trips are later than that in Jan, then you would be a candidate for the Gold Pass if going twice in a year as long as number of total park days justify its cost, i.e., as long as the Gold Pass would cost less than buying regular multi-day tickets for the total number of days you will be in the parks (most likely true but still compare the prices just in case).

Best lake view room request to make is high floor. That is the only one we consider necessary. Others try other location requests in additon to high floor, such as "north wall, even numbered room" to get a view of MK when looking to the left from the balcony (we actually prefer the view looking the other way across the lake to what used to be Discovery Island, or looking south toward Epcot where you can view the water parade at night.

There is not a place at BLT for burgers. The BLT pool bar, Cove Bar, has hot dogs, chicken wraps, turkey wraps, vegetable wraps, and a meat and cheese platter. If you want fast service hamburgers you need to go to Contemporary (its pool bar has them). The Contemporary has, in my view, three very good sit down restaurants. Chef Mickey's buffet/character meal, California Grill (top floor/view of MK/table service), and the Wave (table service). Staying at BLT also offers an excellent opportunity to do the Hoop Dee Doo dinner show at Fort Wilderness because a boat runs the Contemporary, Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness Loop. Likewise the Luau at Poly via monorail. Contemporary also offers one the best Disney Stores of any of the resorts. You can walk to MK (about a third mile) but no shame in taking the monorail via the Contemporary if you do not want to walk.

Be aware that to go to the MK, you go all the way around the loop to the other stops first. To come back from MK, Contemporary is the first stop.

When we stay at BLT, we always walk to and from the MK. IMO, it's just as far to walk from BLT to the monorail (and then you almost always have to stand a while to wait for one to arrive) as it is to just walk to the MK. We have taken the monorail back to the Contemporary (very occasionally & just for the ride), but again you walk from the MK exit (in the opposite direction from BLT) up the ramp to the monorail (and then stand and wait). Then you walk back to BLT from the monorail station which again is pretty much the same walk (in distance) as it is from the MK exit to BLT.

Just seems like a lot less waiting and about the same amount of walking to use the path rather than the monorail. YMMV.

My family enjoyed our first stay as DVC members in February. We loved our lake view 2BR at BLT and the convenience of walking to the MK. In addition to the restaurants already mentioned, the Contemporary also has a quick service option - the Contempo Café. It is located very near Chef Mickey's and we found the food to be quite good. We didn't have burgers but I believe they were available. All of the Contemporary food options are easily accessible from BLT via the skybridge.
