Ticket Questions which one to buy

First off let me say thank you again, everyone always gives great advice. I can only hope that I do my share to help others they way you all have helped me. I am a DVC member we are planning a trip 12/7-12/17 debating which ticket is the best option. The first night, we will get there about 9 so we are not going to the parks then. We will also have one day at Universal, never made it off property and promised DS's and DD we would check it out this time. So we will really only need 8 days worth of tickets. MYW doesn't seem like a good option to us we like to hop to different parks. We do want to go to the water park one day so we will want that flexibility. I think what we want is an 8 day PH with water option but....I don't see that option on the site? Do we have to buy an AP or a ten day? Can anyone help? With 4 kids always looking for the least expensive way to share the magic. Thanks!!

I am not sure where you are looking, but you can buy tickets in almost any combination. You can buy an 8 day park hopper ticket and add the waterparks option to it. You will get about 4 days of water parks and more ( disney quest, pleasure island ). This should be available on the disney site, but you can get the tickets cheaper if you buy them at one of the discount ticket brokers, like ticketmania. You can combine almost any combination of days with the park hopper option and the water parks options. You do not need to purchase more days than you need, although if you add the water parks option to a 8 day ticket you will get about 4 days of the water parks. It could be cheaper to buy the 8 day hopper and just pay for the one day at the water park if you don't need the extra days.
