Ticket Question

Going to the world for 7 nights/8days. Initially we were set to do a resort trip, spend a lot of time hanging around. After seeing prices, it is worth it to buy the 7 day basic plan ticket ($30 total for all of us) than to buy a 4 day. Now that I'm in my planning, I'm begining to think I should spend $174 more for park hopping because I'm getting excited and thinking you never know what you want to on a specific day.
So I'm asking, do you think it is worth it to get the hoppers, just in case?

Personally, I am going for the park hopper option. Especially if you are staying on site you'll need to park hop in order to take advantage of both extra magic hour mornings and evenings when they overlap at different parks.
Also, hopping gives you more flexibility with eatting at preferred restaurants.
And if one park gets too busy, you can always move to a different one.
One more issue, if you are going during a non-peak time, MK and MGM might close earlier than EPCOT, so you can move to EPCOT after you finish at the other park. I think it is the best way to wring the most value out of each park day.

With teens who are only interested in certain rides in each park, the hopper is the only way to go.

Have fun!

We're wrestling with the same thing, and hopping is nice, but last time we went we only used that feature once, to go and see the fireworks at Epcot again, but we go off-season when the parks are not open as late. Plus, with the parks not being as crowded, there's less reason to move from park to park.

What I realized is that a 10 day base pass is less than a 7 day hopper, so now I'm thinking why not get the 10 day, and if we really want to hop we'll use another day, and if we don't, we'll have some extra full days to use .... haven't decided yet. Any input on this idea?

Something for you to look into is, I don't think you can use 2 days in 1. Meaning, if you don't have the hopper I don't think you can go to MK in am and then in the pm use another day at Epcot. I'm pretty sure I read that somewhere.

You are right Rileyroosmom. I remember seeing that addressed at mousesavers.com. Makes sense though. It is cheaper to buy ten day MYW tickets than add the hopper option to a 7 day so folks wouldn't bother with adding the option. The hopper option would only be worth it if you are going to use all 10 days, either during one trip or over more (if you also pay for the no expiration option).

That didn't make sense at first, but thinking about it, if I bought a 5 day pass, and say entered that park one day, and then exited and gave the pass to somone else to also enter the park that day... Five people in one day on a five day pass??? Don't think they'd like that!

Anyway, now I can see why they would have this rule. So much for a good idea. We probably still won't get the hopper option since it's cheaper to just get more days, and try and do only one park per day. We stay off site, and will try and do other things in the evenings rather than 'disneying out' each day.
