Ticket question

I am trying to figure this out and just can not get my mind around it.

Here is the scenario. I am a long time Annual Passholder. For the last few years (well since they changed their renewal policies) I do not renew my pass when it expires because generally it will be 6-8 months before I return. My current pass expires December 8 of this year:sad:

Next May 14 I will be going on the Repositioning cruise from Florida to California. I just CAN NOT be in the area and NOT go to a park. So we will spend May 12 & 13 at the parks.

My delimma is what kind of ticket to purchase. We will not be heading out to WDW probably until December 2005. I really do not want to purchase an AP for $400+ but if that is the best thing to do... I will

I do remember reading that we could purchase 4-day Parkhoppers and use the unused days to go towards and AP.

1. Does that have to be done immediately following the first use?

2. If we purchase through a ticket broker, can we still do the same thing? (I may have read somewhere that you can not)

Any insight will be helpful.

Could you wait until closer to your May trip to purchase APs? That way you could use them for that trip, your December trip and perhaps another trip before they expire???

I never have bought AP's so I really know very little about trading up and such. My hunch would be that it couldn't be done thru a broker though.

Hope someone has some answers for you :)

if I recall the thing is you don't get the full advantage of the price off with a ticket broker, wdw only pays you what they paid for it or some such thing ,somehow you end up paying more for it in the long run (it was explained to me once, made me decide not to do it and my brain discarded it)

No it doesn't. If you do the upgrade within the first 7 days of use of the PHP, you can apply the entire purchase price towards the AP. If you do the upgrade after the first 7 days, then the dollar value of the unused major park admissions can be applied towards the AP.

Yes you can. But the amount of credit you get will reflect the value figured at the wholesale price that Disney sold the ticket to the wholesaler for, not the retail price that you paid for it.

Read the info on upgrading and dollar credit transactions shown
on Deb's web site. It should answer most of your questions.

I have a ticket question for GoldenOldie, too!!

I am coming to the World on the pay for 5, stay for 7 deal that they offered and will be arriving in September.

Can I exchange that UPH ticket for an AP and just pay the difference? We are thinking about doing that and trying to make the MNSSHP and MVMMC if we can....

I am pretty sure UPH can not be used to upgrade to a PAP. Because they are part of a package deal.

dzneprincess is correct. You cannot upgrade any tickets that are part of a Disney package plan, sorry.
