Ticket Question

Hoping someone with the right answer sees this post and can help!

1. Our travel agent informed us that our tickets come with Early Admission (I am assuming because we have expresses passes?) However, everywhere I am reading says that to get past into the actual ride areas you have to show your hotel key? How does this work if I do not have a hotel key? Do they scan my ticket?

2. Do your tickets have to be linked to the APP to do virtual ques and virtual line passes? We are getting our tickets from a kiosk that morning and they won't be connected to the APP.

Thanks! We will be there in one week! First time in 8 years!

This all seems very odd. Early Admission usually either comes with a stay in one of the on-site hotels, or for Preferred/Premier Passholders. I hadn't heard of a regular ticket that gives early admission.

On the express pass front, you can indeed get that added on when buying tickets (if you're not getting if free from staying at one of the Deluxe on-site resorts). But the early admission part is not attached to Express Pass in any way (that I am aware of).

As for the app, you do not have to have your tickets linked in the app to do virtual line passes.

Tickets purchased through a travel agent are eligible. It’s an added perk.
We’ve done it many times!
It’s not related to express pass; it’s from buying from a TA.
Look for the ticket to say “UPRV”, or check on the e-doc that arrived after the purchase that showa early entry.

That's great news. Do you mind sharing what TA's you've used to do this? You can PM me if needed. Thanks!

Sure! But it’s actually not unique to any specific agent or agency.
it’s the way Universal has their ticket sales set up. Agencies sell through a certain system, and the tickets are by default through “Universal Parks and Resorts Vacations”.
once purchased, they receive a confirmation that shows the details (and is used to retrieve the tickets at a kiosk or window), and a travel e-document (which will show the early admission benefit).
For early admission, the Universal team members know to look either for a room key, or for that “uprv” on the back, which means the tickets were purchased specifically through the travel company that agents book through.
