Ticket Question

Hey everyone. Long story short, we had a terrible experience with a maid last year and a driver on one of the boats. We complained. Didn't expect anything, but Disney was awesome and comped us each a 2-day park ticket with park hoppers.

We were pumped. We go every Christmas and this was a nice way to save. So, we're heading to Disney again this year from 12/24-1/1. We don't do the parks on 12/24 and won't be there on 1/1, so we needed 8 days. We're taking a late flight on 1/1, so we want the flexibility to run into EPCOT should we want a quick snack or wanna get in a ride or two.

So we initially booked a 6-day park hopper and linked our free 2-day park hopper to our account. Problem is, as I was going through the plans I realized this wasn't cost effective. We're basically throwing out 1 couple hundred dollars by doing so.

We'd like to add two days onto our plan, then un-link (de-link?) our free 2-day park hoppers and use them at a later time. We're thinking of going down for a 3-day weekend, so we'd get far more value using it then.

Can anyone offer some guidance? We tried calling Disney and they just instructed us to go to the front desk when we arrive and have them do it.... but we're very much Type A's and need everything in order before we board that plane.

Thanks in advance.

I believe you will need to go to Guest Services at a park or Disney Springs. You can't do this in advance and I'm not sure a resort will be able to do it. You'll also have to have those tickets prioritized so that the 2 day park hoppers are not used.

Cool. There's a Guest Services right outside the EPCOT International Gateway, I believe, so we can head there right after checking in.

Should we go ahead and add the two days onto our package now or wait and do it at Disney?

For the current 2-day tickets, just create two new "fake names" in your MDE account.
Transfer the 2-day tickets that you DON'T want to use to those "fake names."

Done.

And IF you bought your new 6-day tickets as PART of your RESORT PACKAGE,
you CAN upgrade them before your trip (as in today, if you like.)

If they are stand-alone tickets, do it at WDW, as discussed.

1. Where did you buy the 6-day tickets. If they are part of a package, you can upgrade them now. If you bought them directly from Disney, they might be able to exchange them over the phone. If you bought them from a third party, you can only upgrade in person.

2. You can stop at Guest Services and have them "prioritize" the tickets for each person. However, I find it's easier to create a fake person in your profile and transfer the tickets to them. You can always transfer unused tickets, so you can move them back later.

This is what I have done. So easy. When we are ready to use we reassign them. I've done this with bought and comp tickets.

Reassign the tickets to a fake family member in your MDE account as Robo mentioned.

As for adding days to your current tickets, this can be done now if they were bought as part of your package OR can be done at guest services at the parks OR at the concierge desk at your resort. I added 2 days to our tickects just a couple weeks ago at the concierge desk. It was quick and painless.

** Spin Off Question to this thread **

I have a 3day park hopper non expiring comp for just DH and I from our adults only trip we had to cut short. The Guest Relations agent sent me a link and advised me to link it to my account. I haven't yet as I don't want to override our 9day park hoppers for this November.

Do I have a time limit to add it to my account?

In reviewing my account, I see that I still have a 10day park hopper in there from a year or so ago for everyone except my oldest DD. These are still listed as active?
Is that possible? I thought that once you used the tickets as part of your package you only had 14 days to use them from the first use.

1. Unknown, as that kind of ticket may or may not have an expiration date.
(Does the ticket have anything listed on it to that effect?)

2. No. If you USED any of those ticket assets back then, the tickets have expired.
3. The MDE software is still very glitchy and prone to "phantom tickets" showing on an account.
4. That's correct.
