Ticket question?

We are staying offsite (Val d'Europe) for 6 nights in July of 2015. We will have 7 full days (though arriving at 7am from an overnight flight might make the first day interesting) and have tentatively planned 3 days for DLP and 3 to take in sights in Paris.

I haven't really found a way to get discounted passes from the US, so I think we're going to end up purchasing them when we get there. So the question is, is it worth the bit of extra time and money to get APs for the early entry access (since we're off-site) and discounts? Or are we fine with just getting 3 day passes? Can you add a day later like you can at WDW?

Thanks!

APs for Paris can either be ordered by post and you will receive them fully made up so depending on your dates you could order the Fantasy. If you have blackout dates during your stay you will have to order the Dream AP.

If you order them from a third party site I'd suggest waiting as there will be offers from retaillers here in France such as Fnac, Carrefour and Auchan who will be offering discounts in the coming months.

3 day passes will cost as much as a AP - At present 3 days costs 169€ and a Fantasy AP the same 169€.

You can't add extra days to tickets , once bought you'd have to buy an extra day at the gate.

You mention that you are planning to base yourselves at VdE for your week long stay - It will take you a good 45 minutes to get to Paris and the transport costs soon add up. If you are sure of spliting your time I'd be looking for a hotel in Paris to get the most out of your short stay as 90 minutes of public transport everyday on top of all the walking you will be doing is no fun ;)

Thanks for the advice, Carrie_Cat! We'll keep our eyes out for discounts as we get closer - we've been thinking the AP would be a better bet for the way we tour anyway.

I appreciate the advice about the travel time as well - but we will be travelling with my DMIL and DFIL who are getting older, and honestly switching hotels in the middle of the trip just isn't something either they or my DH want to do. We're willing to factor the travel time into our days in Paris - both for the discount on the hotel (vs. what we could find in the city) and on its impact on our days. We'll be taking it kinda slow anyway, so the trip back to the resort may just be the extra break we need in the evening to be able to fit in a bit of DLP at the end of the day! ;)
