Ticket Question - WP + PH

In all the times we have been to WDW we have never gotten the water park + park hopper tickets, so I want to make sure I understand how they work.

If I will be at WDW for 7 days and I want to spend 2 of those days in water parks, do I only need a 5 day ticket? Or do I still need a 7 day ticket?

The Water Park Fun & More entries are separate from the Theme Park days. If you were to purchase a 5-day MYW ticket with the WPF&M option, you would get 5 theme park days PLUS 5 entries to the Water Parks, Disney Quest, etc.
