Ticket Question- Hopper or One Park?

I'll be going to DLR in October with a friend. She'll be getting a three-day hopper (plus a Hallowe'en ticket).

My dilemma is this: I already have two individual one-day hoppers that I will be using, so I only need to buy a one-day ticket. Should I go with a hopper or a one-park?

We definitely plan on hopping our last day (to re-do all our favourites and things we missed) and the second day (which we will spending the bulk of at DCA, but I figure we can hop before/after the park closes). The first day, however, is out "Disneyland day." We'll be doing all the major rides, parade, fireworks and some characters. I'm trying to figure out if it would make sense to do just the one park that day, or if I should play it safe and get the hopper.

Are either of your tickets upgradeable? If so its cheaper to upgrade one to a 2 day pass.

This was also my first thought.

If they are not upgradeable I think I would skip the park hopper since you will have 2 days to hop. But it all depends on your touring plan.

Also...wouldn't you be able to upgrade the one park ticket to a hopper if your plans changed?

The one day hoppers I have now are non upgradable. But since I've never done upgrades before, I completely forgot that they were an option!

3moneys4me- like I said, I didn't even consider upgrades, which is making me feel pretty foolish right about now. The main reason I was on the fence was because I was afraid of comitting to one, and then needing the other. Thanks for reminding me that I actually do have other options if I do get the one-park!

If your friend is fine with it I'd definitely go for a one-park ticket for that ticket. If she is slightly disappointed in not being able to hop, then you can buy her a churro out of your savings and then you will both be happy.

Are you doing the Halloween Party too? If so you could use that as a ticket for a day to DL only. Well sort of because it will let you enter at 3 hours before the actual party starts. You could do DCA all morning and early afternoon, making it an unofficial park hopping day, when you combine if with the Halloween party.

This sounds like an instance where a one day, one park tickets is A-OK.

Thanks again! I feel a lot more justified about going with the one-park ticket now. We ARE doing Hallowe'en, but since we are in California for 5 days, we're planning on doing 4 days in the parks- 3 full days + Hallowe'en. In the 15 years I've known my friend, I've done all the planning with no complains- so hopefully she doesn't start now!

And if all else fails, there's always churro bribery.
