Ticket Question for a Co-worker

I've always bought an entire disney package so I'm not sure I understand the stand alone tickets. Someone I work with said to me today that she is staying offsite in a time share and that she got 3 day park hoppers with water parks and more. She said so I have three days at the parks and 3 days at the water parks while I'm there for a week at the end of July. I know when I bought the package that the water park or more was not extra days that you used them on the same days as the parks, is it the same thing with stand alone tickets? She also told me she made no FP+ even though she had downloaded the MDE app so she'll just do it when she gets there plus she hasn't made any ADRs.

Any tickets, whether they're package or stand-alone, are good for 14 days from their first use. (Exceptions being FL resident tickets, military Salute tickets, and a few other 'special' types of tickets.) Water Park Fun & More visits can be used on the same days as theme park entries, or on different days, whichever you want to do, as long as you use all the entitlements (theme park days AND "Fun" entries) within the 14 day window.

I guess since we flew down and had them as part of our package, to me the water parks weren't extra days. Good to know if we ever decide to add on the water parks when we drive down we could use them even if we moved offsite to try the dark side.

You were actually mistaken about having to go to water parks on the same days as the theme parks. You COULD do that but you COULD also go to the water parks on entirely different days. So she's perfectly fine in going to the parks on three days and the water parks on three other days.

Now, if she has linked her tickets to her MDE account, she can go ahead and make the FPs now since she's within 30 days. And she should do that! She'll be able to make them for whichever 3 days she wants. Since she's offsite, it's 30 days. If she were onsite it would have been 60 days. If she's afraid of being locked in to FP times, tell her she can always change things around at the last minute if things are available but at least she'll have something as a backup.

She can also make ADRs since she's within her 180 days. She needs no resort reservation or tickets to make ADRs. Anyone can do that as long as it's within 180 days.

She is afraid of being locked in to the FP+ times, I told her there are one hour return windows. I will also mention that she can change them whenever she feels like on her phone so go ahead and book some.

She knew she could make the ADRs now but I don't think she has been to WDW in quite a long time so she might not realize that she should make some if she wants to have a TS at any place popular. They are leaving pretty soon so the next time I talk to her I will bring up the ADRs.
