Ticket question--can I do this and if so how much?

I'm looking into tickets for a possible February trip. On ticketmania they have a special through Mousesavers......buy a 4 day ticket get 3 more days free (non-hoppers, expiring tickets only). We are only going to be able to stay in the parks for four days, can I update the remaining days we have on our tickets to non-expiring before we leave? How much is that (2 adult tickets and 1 child)?
To get non-expiring tickets for 7 days through Mousesavers is $63 more--just wondering if it's any smarter/cheaper to do it at the parks.

Also----and no flames please, I promise I'm not trying to start debate #8,623 about sneaking a child in and acting like he's under 3 . BUT---we do have our DS who will be 2 at the beginning of the trip, and 3 at the end of the trip (going for his and DS5's birthdays--born 4 days and 3 years apart!). I'd always read here Disney goes by the age the child starts his trip---is that really true?? thanks!

I can't answer your first question but the second answer is yes. If your dc turns 3 during the trip you are not required to buy a ticket.

I'm not sure how much it costs to add non-expiry option to your tickets.

No.

When you add No-Exp, you pay the fee for the TOTAL amount of days on the ticket, not the remaining days. If you have a 6 day ticket, with 4 days left on it - you still pay the No-Exp. fee for a 6 day ticket.

So it would be smarter to go ahead and buy no exp. up front, rather than wait and add on to the remaining days once we're done??

If you look at the price charts, to go from a 4 day to a 7 day base ticket is only about $9.50. It sounds like a great deal "buy 4 days get 3 free" but the way Disney structures the passes, it's not that much.

Don't buy this expecting to add non-expiration. It could be a promotional (non-standard) ticket unique to Ticketmania and could be not modifiable in any way.
