I booked a last minute March trip last weekend, staying 3 nights at Pop (March 16-19) with a 3 day hopper pass. Since then, I was able to snag a 2 day reservation at AS music (March 14-16). When I called to ask if I could add a day prior, they we unable to do so without changing my my current reservation and loosing my current Fastpasses (which I did not want happening because I snagged some great ones which totally surprised me sine it was last minute). I was told I could purchase a one day ticket for Sunday the 15th with them right now, but the cost was crazy expensive. However she did tell me I could arrive the day of at any of the parks and go to the ticket booth and they should be able to just add that day with just the difference from a 3 to 4 day hopper. I understand the cost difference also depends on the day now, but has anyone ever done this? I know I cannot get my fastpasses prior to that day either, but we are willing to just go with the flow and take whatever we can that’s available.

1. Yup. We all know THAT scenario, too well.
2. Well, no.
Sorry.
Your current ticket cannot be activated before your original check-in date, so there is no
way to "add" anything to the start date of a non-active ticket.

I would reconfigure your reservations. Turn the ASMu reservation into a package with 4-day hoppers. Make sure that is updated and linked to MDE. Then, turn Pop into a "basic package", which is essentially a room-only reservation, but won't require a cancel and re-book. As long as you have valid ticket media linked to your account, you won't lose your FP+ (that's why you need to make sure the ASMu reservation with tickets is linked to MDE before changing Pop). You may have to pay a $50 change fee on the Pop reservation though and possibly get guest services involved to do the changes.

Or simpler...
Just buy 4-day stand-alone tickets right now and add them to your MDX account.
You can even buy them from a discounter (even purchase from their remaining "older" stock of tickets) and save some money.
Book FP+ for any days for which you still need them.

Then, change the Pop reservation to drop the "package" tickets.

Thank you so much for this info. I did exactly as you stated, had an awesome individual in guest services who helped me, and now have the 4 day hopper on my ASMu reservation and was able to select fastpasses for that day and not loose my others!
