I'm a teacher and I got a 4% raise this year (the biggest raise I have had in a LONG time)...HOWEVER...my health insurance premiums increased 25%/month, my natural gas bill increased 40%/month, among all the other little increases on everything else. So even WITH my raise, I'm seeing less disposable income than I had last year. A LOT less. Add to the fact that the college my DH work(ed) for underestimated their energy budget BIG time and had to cut expenses of 1 million dollars (my DH's job was one of them.)
It's not pretty here, but I know that whenever DH gets another job (saying prayers) that I'll be booking another trip soon.
