Ticket Prices rising Sunday!

Tell me about it! I cannot tell you how financially depressed things look from where I'm sitting. That's why I had to go check to see for myself, and lo and behold, yup: Income is up 2.4% for the first half of the year, and the real kicker is that disposable income is up 2.1%. I wonder where all these people are, who got nice raises.

I'm a teacher and I got a 4% raise this year (the biggest raise I have had in a LONG time)...HOWEVER...my health insurance premiums increased 25%/month, my natural gas bill increased 40%/month, among all the other little increases on everything else. So even WITH my raise, I'm seeing less disposable income than I had last year. A LOT less. Add to the fact that the college my DH work(ed) for underestimated their energy budget BIG time and had to cut expenses of 1 million dollars (my DH's job was one of them.)

It's not pretty here, but I know that whenever DH gets another job (saying prayers) that I'll be booking another trip soon.

That's an aggregate figure. Check the distribution of those gains across the population.

I went to the Disney Store today and bought our tickets. Could have done it online but wanted them in hand today...makes me feel more secure somehow.

The statistics are reported stratified by industry from which the income is generated. It appears that the increases have been across-the-board for folks working in Manufacturing and Services, a bit depressed for government workers, and on the slide for farm workers.

I can't seem to find a complete listing of how all the various ticket prices are affected (ie, 7-day, 5-day, w/hopping. w/pluses). Is such a thing available online somewhere, or only by calling WDW?

Dread to think what I will end up paying for the passes. Over here alone the disney passes for 14 days is £600 which works out about $1000 for the 4 of us. Ideally a 10 day pass would have suited us. But we can't get one over here. The 14 day pass is £10 difference than the 7 day one.

Many ticket agents over here sell the 10 day and all the other tickets. ONly thing is that in relaity the 14 day ticket is probably better vlaue as it has ihoppoinmg and the extras as well (DQ etc)



Does anyone know what the AP renewal rate is going to be?

Groovee - I just bought 10 day passes about 20 minutes ago (base passes, so no water parks and no park hopping) for $210.00 per adult at Undercover Tourist. These are the prices through Mousesavers, but the regular prices on the Undercover Tourist website are $215.00 per adult. Their worldwide shipping (takes up to 14 days) is free.

Deb's site has it updated for gate prices, but states "advance ticket prices not increased." Maybe they don't have those numbers yet?? Hard to believe Disney wouldn't increase those as well, but they are the ones with the spreadsheets, not me!

We are going to Disney for 7 nights in March, but haven't booked yet. Should I go online and order tickets now? They aren't cheeper with a room package are they? Usually you get one card for your room and park hopping, right? now will I get plastic park hoppers if I order online, and then have seperate plastic cards for our hotel room? Thanks

If the higher prices result in more Cast Members to clean the rest rooms and pick up trash, it will be worth it!

I'm glad to see that the price increase isn't as great on the longer-term MYWs as it is on the one-day. Seems to me they're sticking with their strategy of trying to provide incentives to stay longer (and therefore spend more on food, souveniers, hotel rooms, Mickey bars. . . ).

Bought my tickets today over the phone because I couldn't get the disney site to work. 4 day hopper with tax was 148.15 and would be 160.93 tomorrow. CM asked how I new the prices were going up as they were only told this morning. Probably could have saved more money ordering from a ticket place but was worried about tickets not making it here in time(we leave in a few days) so the will call worked best for us.

Boy am I glad we were able to get on the Disney site this afternoon and get our annual passes for Will Call. They will be waiting for us when we arrive and we saved a little money doing it. We missed out the last price hike, so we're just glad we got this one.

I bought my most recent AP in Oct. 2004 while I still got a cast member discount. It cost ~ $364. It will expire Nov. 29th this year, and then...no more AP's. I bought a 10-day non-expiring premium pass before the Jan. 2006 increase - so I hope to get several short trips out of it. I love WDW, but I will be cutting way back on frequency and duration of future trips.
