Ticket Price Increases?

AP vouchers (actually, they are called "AP certificates" by Disney) do not "activate" until after a guest physically goes to a ticket booth or Guest Relations and (guests over 18 years old) shows a legal photo ID, and THEN actually goes through the park gate (which can be on a later date than when the guest visited the booth to show ID.)
It is now part of the activation process that the AP does not start "counting down" until the guest first uses the AP at a park gate.
AP certificates have an expiration date (I prefer "use first by date") of Dec. 31, 2030.

So I guess this policy has changed in the past couple of years? I thought previously you had to activate within a year, and then after that you got the value of the voucher towards a new one. Seems like this would encourage people to buy years worth of passes in advance.

1. Not since I've been keeping track.
2. Don't think so. (Maybe at Disneyland?)
3. Which would mean Disney would get a boatload of cash NOW, and all they'd have to do is
let one more guest in the doors on future dates.

Sorry to ask about that I guess, but I thought that was the whole point of eliminating the no-expiration tickets, was that it left a liability on Disney's books for longer than they wanted.

Nobody really knows Disney's reason for eliminating non-expiration tickets. It could be as simple as wanting to eliminate a lower cost per visit alternative for some families.
