Any word on when Disney will be increasing their ticket prices? I am sure there is a thread here on this somewhere, but many seem to have resort packages....and I am only interested in the tickets (specifically APs).

Thanks!

They just reworked everything for ap right before Christmas
It raised a big stink as some of the new ap have blackout dates

It's been right at a year since non-AP tickets have gone up.

Smart money says any day.

And that's a funny stink
DVC members keep asking for FL resident ticket options
So Disney finally gives DVC members a reduced AP with blackout dates (that was only available to FL residents) ... And it's a big stink! :confused3

Lost in the whole AP deal, is Disney reduced the $ discount on the full seasons passes. The combination of a normal AP increas + the reduced discount is a large amount .... But we need to bring out the pitchforks and complain about getting a new ticket option ... That we asked for. :goodvibes

Undercover Tourist figures the raise is coming soon

They have a different definition of soon than I do. It's said that for 3 months now.

They are right in that they are coming. When is really anyone's guess.

I agree with the above, I would buy my tickets sooner rather than later if you plan to use them to upgrade to an AP.

If I was buying an AP, I think you are safe. I doubt they'll raise them again anytime soon.

But ....if you're looking at saving a lil $$$, then I'd buy reg. Park tickets now, use those to enter a park, then have them bridged over to the AP once there....It'll save ya a little money...Every lil bit helps..

From what I hear... the reason we haven't seen the raise yet is because Disney is actually going to be moving away from the Magic your way ticket to a ticket system when pricing is based on crowd level. Pricing could vary by seasons now.

Wow this really getting outta control.....

If they raise base ticket prices, what happens with tickets in a package - tickets that I will definitely upgrade to an AP after arrival?

I have 2 day base tickets booked with a package for June 2016. I will upgrade to an AP after we enter 1st park. (I only booked for 2 day ticket b/c why bother paying more in advance than I have to.)

Is it better to buy the extra days before base ticket prices increase? (I'm assuming AP prices will not change before June.) Will they be bridged at the price I paid when I booked the package (yesterday) or at the new price (assuming I go through a park turnstile at least once before I upgrade to AP)? TIA

Is this thought based on the survey sent out that asked for thoughts on tiered tickets, a newspaper article that was written based on that survey, or something else?

Its not confirmed. I've just heard rumbling among some of my Disney friends who seem to be well connected.

From what it seems, this is not only more profitable but also could help spread out the crowds by making days more/less appealing based on pricing & not just hours. :confused3

But its still just a rumor, not confirmed by anyone.

The only time this doesn't work well is if you need an AP to get the room discount. While it's not always a lot more, it's something and in my case, it was considerably more than the discount I'd get if I bought a ticket from a reseller and used that to upgrade to an AP. I bought mine directly from Disney for that reason. I used reseller tickets to upgrade for DH, DD and DGD

I agrEe it was a ridiculous stink. DVC have the exact same options as before plus a new option to buy a cheaper pass with blackouts.

In the past, you didn't have to have the AP yet to make a reservation, nor did you have to have it when you checked in. If they asked for it, you could tell them that you were going to get your AP when you got to a park, and they'd let you show proof of it later. I assume that's still the case, since I haven't seen anyone reporting differently.

No, you do not need to have the AP in your hand, or have traded in the voucher. But you must have bought one so that MDE shows you have an AP. How else do you see the AP rates?

Is there a way of seeing AP rates online, like Universal does? It's such a hassle to call, especially when the cs reps don't seem to be helpful anymore.
