Ticket Price Increased 8/3/2008

I just talked to a CM at the disney ticket office and purchased an 8 day base ticket from her based on what I would consider to be an extremely strong reccomendation that after their staff meeting tommorrow morning, prices will be changing. So if you are reading this and don't have tix purchased I would call and order them if you want 08 prices for 09. She was hinting very very hard without coming right out and saying tommorrow is the day. I wonder how much they are going up? I cant wait to book the rest of my 09 trip.

Thanks for the info! WOW I hope they release the 2009 packages tomorrow. I am so up in the air about buying my tickets today or not. I am not sure if I am going to wait out a good deal for January packages like last year or book separate...ugh decisions!

I called to make some ADRs this morning and the CM asked if I had my tickets and I said not yet, that was next week...she said I should get them right away b/c prices are going up any second. I haven't check to see if they did go up though, $'s not here right now.:upsidedow

checked on Mousesavers and they're saying 8/3 like some of the other posters said...

148.00 Delta round trip from ROC to MCO x3 = 444.00
8 day base ticket 235.37 x2 = 470.74
8 day base ticket child = 197.03
7 nights at POFQ = ???????? sounds like we will know tommorrow.

 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Adding 1 day of tickets added $25 to my total package for my family of 4. They merge these things so deeply into the hotel rates, I'd be in a wait and see mode. I havn't enjoyed this years vacation to reserve the 09 vacation. I am sure for the people that are not disney guests are the ones that will feel the biggest pinch in the raising of prices. They have to be careful not to raise costs too high. Running those free Magical Express buses with high gas prices couldn't be fun.

Wouldn't it be nice to hear, "hey everyone, we know the economy is really bad with high gas prices, food prices, that WDW has decided to drop prices 3% from last year's package prices and tickets.

Did the CM give you any indication that the types of tickets were changing?

I just transferred some rewards money to my card so I can use my reward points to buy my renewed AP. Of course Chase/Disney is having issues and my reward transfer is having trouble processing today....I don't expire until October, but will buy my renewal this weekend. I did it this way last year and it worked fine.

I've been reading all the info about price increases~ and I see changes for AP holders and MYW one day and multi-day rates but does anyone know if the Florida Resident ticket prices will go up or how much they have gone up in the past?
Thanks

Lets NOT turn this into a discussion/debate on finances. To each his own.

When you stay onsite you get free parking and the diamond pass allows you to get closer in most parks. But when staying onsite, why drive? You also get a 10% discount pass for World of Disney on over $50. purchases. You can also do a special story time, which we have not time to fit in yet. And a free photopass picture printed at select locations in the park. We did it this year, and sure wish we would've last year, but I wasn't sure how it worked then. There are few other discount things included as well. Last year we also recieved a $50 disney gift card for booking with AAA. We also do the dining plan, so we need a package to do that. I have had nothing but success booking with AAA, and so far that is the best deal we have come out with, when we did pricing. We are last minute people though. This year we booked 2 weeks before we left. I priced packages about 3 days prior to booking.

On the disney travel agent website the travel agent ticket is now only good through August. This leads me to beleive the new prices will be effective Sept 1. Normally the ticket price is good entire year but the form was just changed this week.

I've merged these threads about the rumored price increase for Park tickets.

I went to the local AAA office and bought park tix for my Feb trip.
When rates come out and i upgrade my room to add dining, I wont need to get tix. At lest i saved a few bucks buying the tix now, with the prices potentially being not good.

Ummm...unless your AAA office does things different from the rest of them, I think you may have been misinformed. In order to do a package with dining you have to purchase at least a one day ticket for each person in your party. I've never heard of being able to purchase them separately....that's why it's called a package.

Now....perhaps your AAA office will be able to look up that you already bought tickets or something??????? Don't know...have AAA, don't like their travel service though so I don't use it.

When you call Walt Disney World, unless you really know a direct number, you will get one of two offices.

The Disney Reservations Center (DRC) includes Walt Disney Travel Company (WDTC), Central Reservations Office (CRO), Disney Dining, and some other lesser known information lines. To the best of my knowledge the DRC locations are in the International Drive area, Tampa, Kansas City and Houston and Salt Lake City. There may be more. Some of the people working at the DRC call centers may never have been to either WDW or DL (or both).

The Main Switchboard (407-824-2222) is also where all calls to Disney Resorts go if you are dialing the phone number on the back of your reservations form. Also that is where calls go if you dial the Operator from your room, and possibly even calls to the Front Desk. The Main Switchboard people will, if asked, also identify themselves as Guest Services. They can put you through to any number on WDW.

At both DRC and MS they have access to a computer which has lots of Guest Information and it is very well organized. Actually, all CMs who have access to a terminal, or who even can access the "Cast Portal" from off-site, have access to this Guest Services information. I will often open an extra window when I am responding to people and go into the Portal for the latest official information.

The people at DRC and MS do not deal with upgrades, partially used tickets, or problems related to tickets. They do not know all the rules. The people at DRC can sell unused tickets; the people at MS don't deal with tickets at all.

The people who work in the ticket booths at the Parks or in Guest Relations at the Parks (and this includes TTC, the Water Parks, and GRO in DTD) deal with ticket upgrades and unusual problems on a daily basis. I would not say that someone you talked to on the phone lied to you, but just they were attempting to answer a question when they really did not have an answer.

Normally Ticket Price increases always go into effect on a Sunday. The earliest Disney will usually announce the increases is late on a Friday afternoon.

The only people who know in advance are some managers and high level people, the programmers for the ticketing computers, and the people who make signs and printed materials.

Often many of us who sell tickets find out when we come in and find that the prices on our terminals are changed, and the sheets we have in the booths to show Guests their choices are new.

Last I heard was info will be out on Friday- with increases starting on Sunday.

Well, now he can eat off property and save a lot of money.

thank you for some deeper insight into disney operations. I guess I wasn't taking any chances on prices going up I like to get a bargain. :worship:
