Mousesavers is reporting an expected increase this Sunday. They say that every year for the last several years the prices have gone up on the first Sunday in August.

So get em' now if you can!!!!

I have a question, we are planning to buy tickets through undercover tourist for next year . Can I buy them whenever, maybe 1 month or 2 before our trip and they will not be expired when I use them or do I have to buy them a few days before I go ......:confused3

They expire 14 days after first use. You can buy them any time you want.

I am a DVC member and for us when we buy our annual passes (which are also expected to increase) they start from the first day we redeem them at the park. Our trip is not planned until Feb. 27, 2010 but I bought my passes this weekend.

As for tickets, I am not sure how it works, but if you go often consider buying a 10 day no expiration pass. That way they don't expire anyways and you can use them for two trips.

I am wondering if I should add the water park and more option to our tickets before the price increase...

We only plan on going to one water park while we are there but if the tickets increase it might be cheaper to add that option now and be able to go again if we have extra time...

We are thinking of buying 10 day passes for our Jan. 2010 trip. We can buy them now and use them in 2010 or 2012 if our plans change, right?

Second question, if we buy basic 10 day passes now, can we upgrade them to Hoppers or no expire passes, at a later date? Say when we arrive?

Thanks,
Debbie and Tony

They have not reported what the increase is yet. They did not say that it is happening for sure, just that it has happened on the first Sunday in August for the last few years. Mousesavers also says to expect an increase.

Either way, the price will go up sometime in the near future because it has been almost a year since the last time. Also, our dollar is strong = good time to buy.

First question....yes you can buy now and use them at any time later.

Second question....yes you can upgrade them after you arrive at WDW. You must do this within 14 days of the first use. You should also use the tickets at least once before making any changes to them. Using them first values them at gate price not at any discount that you might been able to get.

there's a link on allears that gives you all the price increases at Disney. Very informative. That said, I looked up the DVC passes and the increases for them. In 2007 they went up $15 and $20 in 2008. For me that's not really worth the interest I would have to pay as I would be charging it on my line of credit. My main concern is the fluctuation in the Canadian dollar between now and when I go in Dec/Jan. Being able to buy @$1.10 is a huge plus, but the interest it incurs makes it a bit of a wash.... decisions, decisions!

We also received the Mousesavers alert so I called the Disney Store at Eaton Centre to ask - the CM wasn't sure so she passed me along to the Manager & he said that prices DID increase already, in May, so there will NOT be another increase this calendar year.

I think he meant when the park tickets went from par to not par. For a few months Disney store had the tickets at par with the US. But in May, they increased to the exchange rate again. What we are talking about is the American price of tickets. Maybe it would be better to buy from Canadian Disney store if the tickets aren't going to go up!

That could be! Either way, he was definite that the prices of the tickets at HIS store weren't going up!! :rotfl2:

I was lucky enough to go to the very nice Disney Store at the Georgian Mall in Barrie back in April & get my 7 day hopper at par, used it last month at WDW then upgraded it to an AP. Thanks to the Canadian Dis board!

Tickets from the Canadian Disney Stores are a pure and simple rip off -- the exchange rate they used was astronomic and no where indicative of where the exchange is or even had been at it's worse this year. :scared1: I was shocked at how much they are charging for them.
