We are going to WDW in October 2002. I'm assuming that ticket prices will have increased before then. Anyone know when the price increase usually takes place. Should I buy the tickets now?

Historically they raise the ticket prices in the Spring, sometimes for the Presidents Day weekend. With the travel industry in a slump right now I doubt that they would raise the price. They have given discounts at the surrounding parks. ie Sea World and Universal. If you are concerned I would purchase you pass at the Disney Store or AAA.

Disney last raised ticket prices in January 2001. I heard that Sea World already raised their ticket prices in 2002, but Universal and WDW didn't follow suit.

Ticket prices will be increasing on March 19th. We were just told this the other day. Sorry, i do not have the amount of increase or anything specific, just that they're going up that day.

Thanks Donna!

I went ahead and purchased all the tickets I needed. :D I'm looking forward to our trip.

I hope that they won't raise prices late in the year. I bought HP that I am ready to exchange for PAP at the end of August.

Universal raised prices but shortly before that they threw out an awesome deal on bonus passes where you could get 2 park, 7 day tickets for the price of two days, if it serves as a future sign of things to come...

Yes, Uninversal raised prices on Saturday, March 2. I ran to my local AAA on Monday, March 4 to get my tickets at the old price!!!

Wow, if this is true (March 19 for WDW), then I have to come up with about $800 and fast!

I just talked to my local Disney Store, as of right now, they know nothing of a price increase. He said they usually get a package with new prices and tickets some time before the price increases. He said he would have had it by now if it was going up on the 19th. Not to say it is NOT going up, just the local store knows nothing about it yet. ???? who knows!!

as a former manager of a restaurant~even when you customers seem to know, if it hasnt been released or isnt happening yet (like the price increase) you know nothing. even if you do know you dont tell them that.

They would not have gotten a packet on it yet. It will come in the packet either tomorrow (thursday is the day the packets come in) or maybe next week if they're mailed out late. What that manager would have to do is check his EARS computer that had the announcement on the intranet store site. It's something he'd have to actually check in to until he gets the packet info. The price increase will be coded into the registers. Of course, as always with disney, the date is subject to change but that's what they're saying as of today, lol.

We were told last night that no new passes came in with any increases in them. My manager called wdw guest services and they said no increase...yet. They won't even tell us if/when that will happen i guess. New ticket media was not received as of last night. I told my manager that rumors are spreading of today being the day but as of right now, nothing has changed. We're still expecting one, just not sure when. We checked our hopper supply to be sure the price was actually on the back thinking maybe the UPC's will be changed in the register (like when there is a sale) and the price would just "show up" when scanned, but the prices are printed right there on the back of the tickets so we would definitely need to mail those back and get new ones in. All i know for now!

I just bought 6 day park hoppers from a DS ( Saturday) to avoid the price increase and I noticed that the passes I bought did not have a price on the back of them just a bar code that was scanned. These new passes were made of a heavier plastic and similar to a credit card.

Oh, well, based on the info here I ordered my vouchers at TDS last nite. Would've had to do it sooner or later anyway.

Look in the lower left hand corner for the price on the hoppers from TDS.
