Just got this in my email

http://www.****************/major-ticket-price-changes-on-the-way-for-walt-disney-world-resort/

So are there anything specific details given in the article you tried to link or is it just the generic speculation that's been going on for the past few months on disboards? Unfortunately since the site filter blocked out the website none of us can see the actual article.

I would wait for the details on Sunday morning. When the AP increase came out, the rumors on Saturday did not match what was released on Sunday.

I'm sorry I didn't realize the website would be filtered since it's from ******. It mentions a three tier pricing coming to WDW and Disneyland. Value,Regular Peak for one day passes. It also mentions a ticket increase as soon as Sunday which I thought was surprising since usually there are other sources out there and I haven't read anything else. I just visited the ****** website and the article is there.

The article said that the increase would happen on Sunday. Do you think they meant an announcement or the actual increase will take affect on Sunday

Thanks. I actually stumbled on it myself a few minutes ago. What's interesting is that there is a mention about AP possibly going up to. That seems crazy since they just raised them at the beginning of October.

The actual increase. They usually release details on Friday or Saturday but when the AP change came last October, there was no advance announcement.

We took the rumor seriously and we bought AP renewal vouchers before we headed into the DVC party last night. Last year, when the rumors were going about the price increase, cast members were not able to make any comment about it, they would not confirm any increase. But sure enough, last year, the prices went up when the rumors said it would go up, so I am assuming the same thing is going to happen. Guess we will see. I have no idea how much the increase will be, no one has speculated.

:(

The thing I find interesting is the three tier system. Value ,Regular and Peak. If you read the opinion of some people seems to be that they want to increase the crowds during the value season and lessen the crowds during the peak season. Not sure if I agree with that since most peak times are when school is out and a difference in price isn't going to change peoples minds about taking their kids out of school. I'm going in November with five people I'm going to AAA to buy my 7 day passes today. The thing we all have to remember is that behind all the magic just like any business WDW is going to squeeze every dollar they can.

Does anyone know if this will effect the prices of the 25th Anniversary tickets or are those prices locked in until the deal expires?

I hope it is only announced tomorrow, as I am going to upgrade my DDs Gold AP on Monday!

Since it's one day free, not a specific price, I would expect it to go up. Just my guess.

They typically do not announce ahead of time. If it is announced tomorrow it will change tomorrow.

Ugh... Hubby needs either a 10day or the gold AP for our December trip.

I may just bite the bullet and buy a gold AP voucher this afternoon.

Will tiering effect our ability to "bridge" myw to AP's? I just purchased 3 myw tickets from UT, planning on upgrading to the DVC Gold AP when we go in May.:guilty:

It's all a headline increase none of us are going for a 1 day MK park ticket. Looks like a 4 days ticket is going up 20 bucks according to the Orlando sentinel. So please increase the price and lower the crowds!!!!!!!!!!

Here is the official announcement. Seasonal pricing for a 1-Day ticket and price increases for multi-day tickets go into effect at Disney Parks on Sunday, Feb. 28.

Very possible that the DVC 25th Anniversary ticket might become a better deal than before. That offers expires March 31.

https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2016/02/disney-parks-adopt-seasonal-pricing-on-1-day-ticket/

From that blog it appears the only seasonal pricing change is going to be for 1-day tickets, while all multiple day tickets are just going up in price but will be the same year round. That seems to mean what Disney is trying to do mainly is make local residents avoid coming during any "peak" times, for which it appears that is going to mean not just holiday times but any higher demand times in any month like weekends.

As to the MYW DVC deal being any better now, you will still be paying more for it but likely the "savings" off of total price will be a little better.
