My family and I will be visiting Disney World and staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge (Sun. 9/12-Fri.9/17), we will be coming into town 2 days early on 9/10 and staying at Marriott Lakeshore Reserve to see family in the area.

Our flight arrives at 1pm on Friday 9/10 so my wife and I were hoping to leave the kids with grandma to make a quick visit to Universal Islands of Adventure. Are there more affordable half-day tickets? If not, is there any great discount available for that time of year?

There really aren't any 1 day discounts and there aren't any half day tickets.

The park hours on that date (all of Sept) are 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
One online Base ticket will be: 1 day, 1 park = $79 per +tax ($86.29) plus parking fees = $15.00

Isn't that for convention goers? Not sure if you have to show some sort of ID for that.

It is a convention deal but it also says for their guests and family. There is no mention of any ID needed.

It also includes city walk pass.

You could buy it online and pick it up at the Kiosk.

I wonder why they don't have that on the normal website www.universalorlando.com but they do have it on that other website www.univeralorlandoresorts.com/minisite

Is that a special website of some kind or an old website? I noticed that the maps don't have Wizarding World or Rip Ride Rockit on them.

I found the website on orlandocoupons.com under attractions.

In April guests services sold one of those tickets to the guest next to me....
