Ticket/Meal Plan Question

Hi, Not sure where to put this thread, but here goes....

We are splitting a stay between 2 resorts, 4 nights at each. We have room only ressies right now. I would like to add the meal plan, but realistically, don't see how I can since we are splitting our stay. It doesn't make good financial sense to buy two sets of four day MYW tickets just to get the meal plan.

I was thinking that I would buy my 7 day MYW tickets and then get the dining plan just for the first four nights. That way I would save a little bit of money because we seem to be doing all of our character meals in the beginning of our trip. Can I buy tickets from TicketMania and upgrade them to MYW+Dining for 4 days when I check in at the first resort? Or can you only get the Dining when you buy the tickets through Disney? Or should I scrap the idea of Dining Plan all together? :confused3

Confusing, I know. Sorry. I tried to get all eight nights at the first resort, but they are booked. I even called a few times looking for a cancellation.
What have others done about dining when splitting a stay between two resorts.

Thanks!!!! :goodvibes

You do have to buy the package (room + tickets) through WDW to be able to buy the dining package. I agree with you that it wouldn't save you as much money to buy 2 sets of 4 day passes. If it were me, I would buy my 7 day (or 8 day) tickets with the first reservation and purchase the dining plan with that. I would also keep calling every day to try and find a cancellation to stay at the same hotel for all 8 nights. Also ask CRO if you couldn't buy the 7 day tickets and still purchase the dining plan for both stays. It never hurts to ask. Good luck and I hope you have a great vacation. :flower:

In order to make the most of the free dining plan offer they had at the time, I have broken my stay into three different reservations (and I am not even changing resorts). My first reservation is September 30th to October 4th, the second is October 4th through October 14th. The last is October 14th through October 16th. The dining plan is only good for the length of your reservation.

If you purchase the majority of your tickets with your first reservation, they are good for 14 days (without purchasing the no expiration). Then, for the second reservation you purchase just a one day ticket. Your tickets may cost just a bit more, but do the math. It MIGHT cost less than paying for all your meals. Everyone is different, so what works for me may not work for you.
