I have nearly enough airmiles for one fully loaded adult 7 day pass which is nonexpiring, water park options, hopper. Total airmiles is 3350. Don't go until December.

My plan was to upgrade the ticket to an annual pass as we will be there for 19 days (Ds and I) and going back the following Oct. I was going to buy a second annual pass for me.

Would it be cheaper for me to get two 7 day base tickets via airmiles (only need about 150 airmiles) and upgrade the two of those. Or stick to plan A (which is the fully loaded ticket ) upgrade it for about $65 and buy a second AP?

Thank you

Charley

Just do the math on the price differences.

I upgraded my 5 day base tickets to 6 day no expire and I was only charged the difference between the tickets just as if I had bought the tickets from WDW. I looked up the prices before hand to see what it might cost. There was no extra charges like I have read on these boards. I will say that I had used 1 day on the tickets before I upgraded. I had read that by using 1 day first they can't tell if the ticket was discounted or full price. I don't know if that is true or not. Anyway, I paid exactly what it said on the WDW website for a 6 day no exp. minus the price of a 5 day base.

BTW, this was just in February 2007

It is cheaper to get the 7 day hopper, waterpark, non-expiring one and upgrade that to AP. I think I'll buy a 7 day pass here and upgrade that when we get to Disney.

Are you saying t o go to enter a park with the ticket and then upgrade? Disney won't deduct the day you used?

Thank you

They don't deduct any used days no matter what you are upgrading to. Once you start using a ticket you have 14 days to upgrade it.

I honestly don't know if it makes a difference to use it first or not but that's what I did and I only paid the amount of money that was on the price chart that they had. So really it's worth it to do. The best place to upgrade is guest relations anyway so go into a park and then go over to guest relations and upgrade.

If you are concerned go to DTD to guest relations and see what they say. In fact that's where I added the no exp., then later I added the extra day while at AK.
