Hello Friends,

I will be going for my honeymoon in February 2003. We would like to know what the best ticket options are.

We plan to visit:

a)WDW
b)Epcot
c)Animal Kingdom?...I think it is called that and/or MGM Studios

d)Islands of Adventure

e)Universal Studios (Maybe)

We plan to be in Orland for a total of FOUR (4) Days.

I think a 3 day disney park hopper may be a good idea...any suggestions. I also believe there is some pass which combines Universal and Islands of Adventure.

Please help

Thanks
Andy

If it is your ideal vacation to do all you listed in four days, then try to get a 3-day hopper (difficult I think), but IMHO you are trying to do too much in four days...especially on your honeymoon! I personally would just do WDW and skip Universal opting for a 4-day hopper. OR I'd buy individual passes for whatever parks I wanted to see the most (I'd do Magic Kingdom for sure) and go to maybe 3 parks total, leaving a fourth day to relax.
Best wishes!

I'd have to agree with heart4dis. Stick with WDW only ... I guarantee you'll still wish you'd scheduled more time!!!

There are currently some threads on the boards about how to obtain the 3 day park hopper. I would NOT purchase one-day, one-park tickets.

If you plan to return to WDW anytime in the future, and if it is in your budget now, you might want to purchase 4, 5, or 7 day hopper passes. They never expire, and I haven't looked lately, but you may be able to get some "plusses" too. Then you can use three days (or whatever) now and have more days for the future. But I agree with a previous poster that you may be trying to squeeze too much touring in this short trip.....you might want to tour fewer parks at a more leisurely pace.

I agree..you are trying to do too much especially for being on your honeymoon. Disney and Universal parks are so different than what you are thinking and you wont be able to do that many and enjoy it.

You didn't mention where your hotel is located. But I would stick to going to WDW this trip only and save the 'other parks' for a longer visit. There is so much to see and do at 'The World' you won't want to leave. You are much better off buying a 5 day park hopper ticket at your nearest Disney Store to save a few dollars, not to mention time. You will have to remainer of the days to use on a future trip.
Have fun and good luck!! :earsgirl:

We did our first trip to WDW on a package deal 4 days at the parks & 3 days on the cruise ship. We nearly killed ourselves exploring the 4 main parks, so by the time we were done, we were completely ready to collapse on the cruise. I'd go for a less ambitious plan and be willing to skip stuff in the name of getting some relaxation time in...

If you are only in Orlando 4 days then that would include checking in and checking out. At best you will get three parks in unless you've been here before & plan to powerhop.

If you aren't staying on site I would just say choose one of the following, I base this on the fact that you will be newly married and the way your message was written:

A) WDW: MGM & Epcot, MK & Epcot, then powerhopping to whatever just have to see on day 3. Purchase at least a 5-day hopper & plan to return in the future. If you get hoppers with plus passes you can go to waterparks and Pleasure Island (that's why the 7-day hopper and planning on returning is a great option...you get 4 plus passes with that).

B) Universal: Universal has a promotion for a 5 day consecutive hopper for $89. Or buy an Annual Powerpass for $99. I think a regular AP also gets you Citywalk ($159 or $169).

I think either option is a great way to fill your 4 days in Orlando...but if you are staying on Disney property keep your sanity and go with option A. It's more expensive but the convenience will more than pay for itself.

As for the plan you outlined...bear in mind that both Epcot and Magic Kingdom are 2 day parks. MGM & Animal Kingdom are 1 day parks...it would take 6 days to see everything. There is no point in trying to blend Disney & Universal in just 4 days.

Each Universal park is 1.5 days.

And Sarangel is right...make sure you plan in a break each day...at the pool, at a hotel that you want to see...something. My plan allows you to spend 4 or so hours in a park...come back, take a rest, spend the evening in EPCOT (don't wait tooo late...future world closes by 7).

Last April we tried to fit Disney and Universal all in a 5 day vacation. Needless to say, we skipped Epcot and IOA. We really wanted to do a waterpark and never got to it either. We missed so much that we are going back in February. This time we are planning on hitting Epcot first and then really exploring all of MK, we missed a lot last time. We were so tired last time, that by the last 2 days we were starting to get miserable. I do want to say that I still thought Universal Studios park was excellent. The Twister and Jaws rides were fantastic as was MIB. We will be planning another trip possibly later in the spring to go just to Universal.

My vote is to go to IOA one day, buying just a one day pass or buy a 2 day pass where the days don't expire and keep for next time. I LOVE Universal Studios also, but just not enough time and if I had to pick between the two I would go for IOA. IOA has magic of its own and for adults only, particulary if you have never been it's amazing. Then, for Disney I'd buy a 3-4 day Hopper and spend one full day MK, one full Epcot and one half AK and one half MGM. Unfortunately you do not have enough time to do everything, but I think IOA is out of this world and think you can't skip MK. This plan wouldn't give you any days to relax and you'll probably be too pooped to go to Downtown Disney, Pleasure Island or Citiwalk, but this is my vote for the highlights. If you are into shows more you may want to skip AK all together and spend more time at MGM.

Where are you staying? This may help you increase your park time a bit if you stay on site for either place.

Also, take into consideration it is a honeymoon and what does she want to do? If it were me, I know I would be the Theme park commando, but other people may have a different idea in mind : )

Just my 2 cents.

Jenn
