Okay, Christmas is behind us now, and what better thing to do but plan ahead for our trip to Disney! :D

We are going to be at WDW the first week of May.. (found out right after we booked our time-share about the big 50th Happiest Celebration.) And now, the new ticket options.

We are thinking of only visiting the Parks on a couple of days. Used to be a Two Day Park Hopper was only available thru conventions. Now, with the new ticket options, they will be readily available... But they cost a LOT more than what the new two day park hopper would cost.

I really am thinking about buying Convention Tickets NOW... But I am really afraid that we will run into problems using them come the first week of May???

Anybody bought these convention tickets before??? Should I be concerned???

TIA!

Why buy convention tickets if regular tickets cost less? Convention tickets are iffy if you are not attending the specific convention. Rules could change whereby they ask for a convention badge or admit you only later in the day. Convention tickets have expiration dates.

Are you sure you won't be coming back to Disney in the foreseeable future? You may do well to get a 7 day or even a 10 day ticket with non-expiration option. (Compared with a 7 day ticket the last 3 days of a 10 day non-expiring ticket cost about $25. apiece.)

Attended a convention (at Coronado Springs) this past August. Booked the resort stay at the annual pass rate which at the time was something like $35. per night less then the convention rate.

Last trip: Jan. '05, Pop Century

I have used convention tickets twice. I bought 3-day tickets which include an option to either PI or DQ. Didn't use that option either time, and on the second trip, only went into the parks twice, so lost a day. The convention I attended wasn't on the official list -- it's a small one, but I was admitted without any of the convention materials (had them in the car), just had to repeat the name of the group to Guest Services where I picked the tickets up from will call.
