My cousin is taking her two-year-old to Disneyland next month. He is HUGE for his age, but he really is only 2!!

Will the CMs at the ticket counter ask to see his birth certificate? Or is it on the honor system? My cousin is notorious for misplacing things, and she has misplaced my nephew's birth certificate!! She could find it, but she thinks it will take her a week :rolleyes1

Anyone have any experience with this?

My son was a big 2 year old as well & they told me that the next time I came I would have to bring a birth certificate. But how would they really know???:confused3 Good Luck!:thumbsup2

My nephew was also a big 2 year old, and is now a big 5 year old, although not near as big as he used to be. My SIL had no prob when he was 2 getting in for free, but then when he turned 3 they were considering "sneaking" him through just 1 last time. Fortunately, they decided against it, saying there was no way they would believe them.

HTH!!

My oldest was big and tall for his age and we never had an issue. As soon as he was getting close to his birthday, we did fear we would be stopped and knew they would ask us his birthday if they had doubts.

I have heard they are pretty leniant.

My son was a fairly small 4 year old (not outragously small, IMO) and the person taking tickets said something about how they would have never asked for a ticket for him. He was closer to 5 than 4 at the time and not THAT small!

People who are around a lot of kids can generally tell, though, from other things, not just size--- speach, interactions, fullness of face, etc... I wouldn't sweat it.

We've never had a problem with them asking my children for a ticket until they were way beyond 2. I would advise that they keep their child in a stroller when entering the park and there shouldn't be any problem.

When we took our barely 3 yr old dd who is about average size we probably could have gotten away with not getting her a ticket but we were honest anyways. At opening the CM just took our tickets and let us in but when I came back into the park from CA the CM asked me who the tickets were for, I am assuming he didnt think dd was old enough to need one, so my guess is it will depend on the CM you get.

My dd was just 2 weeks short of being three when we took her in April. And she is very tall. Nobody ever asked her age- at the gate or at the many buffets we went to. She was always in a stroller when we went through the gate though. That may have helped.

I just took my 3 yr old and didnt buy her a ticket 2 months since her birthday and had no problems at all getting her in.

Im going in oct and I will buy her a ticket then hoping she is 40 inches to ride the rides she is at 38 in a half now.

Our first family trip my son turned 3 on the day we flew home, so I was nervous about it as well.
I called Guest Services to ask about this and they said DL is very relaxed about the 3 yr old thing. I was worried about being questioned and having to show a birth certificate.
I guess they are going to get your money in other ways any how.

sorry slight threadjack

My dd will be almost 3 when we go (about 2 months out) but if she doesn't have a ticket does she still go on the fast pass rides with us??

I've never been to disneyland (or the US for that matter lol) so it's all new but from what I read you insert your ticket to get your fast pass - if she doesn't have one will they allow her to go on the same fast pass rides as us (the ones she is tall enough for) ????

Sorry complete newbie lol :)

yes and if they question just say she's 2 /no ticket

Your little one isn't tall enough for most of the FP rides, so it shouldn't be an issue except for 3 rides. I'm not sure when you're going but when we go in September we usually don't need a FP for Roger Rabbit or Buzz.
Autopia always has a long wait, over 30 minutes in standby.

Indiana JOnes- 46"
Splash Mountain- 40"
Space Mountain- 40"
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad- 40"

Soarin over California-40"
Tower of Terror - 40"
Grizzly River Run- 42"
California Screamin-48"

Fastpass rides your child can ride:

Autopia will be ok just have to be 52" to drive using the gas pedal, but you can hold it down while the child drives.

Roger Rabbit's cartoon Spin

Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters

Have Fun!

Wow, never even thought about it. My daughter is two and huge, she turned two 3/21 and wears a size 6 if that give you an idea. Most parents ask how old she is because she has that baby(toddler) face but with her hight it tends to make people curious. After I tell them I usually hear one of them say I told you she wasn't that old. Guess I will call DLR just to be safe as we are going in December for 2 weeks and I don't want to have a surprise expense, it would be much easer to just bring the birth cert. But thanks for the info.

My DD has always been very tall for her age. When she was 1 1/2 people thought she was 3. She is now 7 (almost 8) and wears a size 6 shoe and is 56" tall. We never had a problem with CM's questioning her age.

Technically, CM's are not allowed to ask for BCs and never do. I wouldn't worry about it.
