I know if I bought tickets now, I have to Use them by Dec2018. I do have a trip planned for spring 2018 but what if I don't go at all. Is there is a timeframe say I order my tickets this winter 2017, will it get extended to 2019 expiration? Just checking if there was a date when the expiration will Possibly be extended.

Even if you don't use them before they expire, you can "use" the price paid for them towards a new ticket. If there's even a chance you'll go in the spring, and you have the money I'd buy now before any price increase.

So I possibly won't lose the tickets is assigned in MDE but not used as yet? Biggest worry is we pay $$$ and can't use them for whatever reason.

The ticket itself wouldn't be usable but you could possibly go to the gates and use it to "upgrade" to a valid ticket and pay the cost difference.

Ah guess I was thinking we would get same tickets at the gate (no price adjustments) , guess Disney wants their $ since we had plan on getting parksavers tickets right now.

The new expiration dates are good until the end of the following year, so any ticket bought in 2017 should expire on December 31, 2018. Starting January 1st, 2018, that will flip to December 31, 2020.

Also, as sharonabe said, the tickets are still worth their current value toward new tickets, assuming the price goes up (which it will), so you'd only have to pay the difference between the original and new tickets. If you think you are going to use them, then you can go ahead and buy them. Unless there is a strong possibility of your trip getting cancelled, i wouldn't worry too much about it.

Does this have to be done at the gate? If so, that is a detriment since you wouldn't have your tickets in advance to schedule Fast Passes and such.

I think it is at the ticket window. Of course none of us really know but I know right now if you say have a 7 day and you want to upgrade to an annual pass you have to do it at guest relations or a ticket window.

I don't see the connection.

Whether you buy now from ParkSavers or Disney directly...
Disney "gets the money,"
and tickets purchased at either place will expire Dec. 31, 2018.

Not sure what you mean. You can buy form either place and it will still expire if not used on December 31, 2018. If you don't use it by that date then you have to take the unused ticket no matter what it was initially purchased to a Disney ticket window to apply the cost towards a new valid ticket. None of this matters until January 1, 2019 so we really aren't sure exactly how it will go but that is what you have to do at Disneyland if your ticket expired and you did not yet use it at all.

Ah, that's a good point. I guess there are no expired tickets out in the wild yet. I would imagine they need to let you do this over the phone or through the website, though I guess they have until the end of next year to figure it out.

When I bought a one-day MK ticket at the end of 2016, this was the language included in my receipt:

"Ticket must be used by December 31, 2017, but the amount paid for an unused ticket may be applied towards the purchase of a new ticket at current prices. No refund or credit given if a higher season ticket is used on a lower season date. Non-refundable."

I just assumed this could only be done at the gate. But, I did already use this ticket.

That's right, the one-day tickets already had this restriction, so I guess we'll know at the end of THIS year.
