in searching for the best ticket option I find on Undercover Tourist a 2 day park to park with an extra day option. It says "restrictions apply" but nowhere can I find details on that. What I actually want is 3 day park to park. What is the difference. Also, is there any option to get an actual "hard" ticket or is everything online paper?

It's a deal they commonly run...buy 2 days, get the third day free. :)
It shows the different options for the tickets on their site, but I've never used Undercover Tourist myself (my mom is a AAA member, and we buy passes through them)

The '3rd day free' sale is not as awesome as one would think. The price difference between a 2-day and 3-day pass is not that much $$ to begin with. But it is a sale nonetheless. You will get a 3-day ticket.

The restrictions are just the normal ones printed on the back of the ticket; nontransferrable, expires 14 days after first use, etc.

UT will mail you your hard tickets. We have used them for 10+ years now and love their customer service.

I'd look again, but if I remember the free day one's restriction also has an expiration date. The current one's I think expire in June.

Looking on their Website, Undercover Tourist doesn't currently have any of the buy 2-get 1 free that expire. (Their not on the UniversalOrlando site either).

As far as restrictions, I'm going to agree with wookiebeck. Their talking about the nontransferable, 14 day expiration etc.

Just read any fine print and you won't have to worry. There have been times that they had one that expired - I think that happens most commonly when Universal is also selling ones that expire. But even then, they had both types on there with the ones that didn't expire costing about $5 more.

if you have concerns and questions about type of tickets available, call the company or send them an email to ask them.
what posters answer were true when they went with tickets, policies and promos change so who knows if our information will be
accurate for the time you go/buy.

always best to go to the source directly.

So, if I buy tickets from the Universal site they will need a credit card to get their tickets from a kiosk? Are they paper or plastic? From Undercover I can get plastic tickets? Correct?

yes, UT issues the regular type of ticket, you won't get it on a paper that has to be folded up (like the print at home ones)

I understand that UT sells the plastic ticket. How about if I order my ticket via universalorlando.com as part of my room package?

you receive the tickers when you check in
that is how packages dispured the park tickets last year when i checked in.

From Undercover I can get plastic tickets? Correct?

When we bought from there we got the paper+Tyvek tickets. They aren't just big pieces of paper you print the tickets at home on, but they aren't plastic, either. You'll want to put them in a lanyard that seals to keep water out.

If you buy from UO and choose "print at home" then you literally print at home on paper. I have heard recently that you CAN go to guest services and ask them for a proper ticket (which is paper+Tyvek). Otherwise you end up with a piece of paper.

I believe you can buy from UO and choose will call, and then you can get it from will call or a kiosk. And it prints out on the paper+Tyvek.

I remember using my CC, but I'm quite sure there are other ways to do it. After all, they know perfectly well that CCs expire and get lost, so they have to have another way of doing it, just like Disney would.

Guest services stopped issuing the tyvek tickets for exchanging the print at home tickets

If this has changed since October 2015 I do not know

Call guest services or email them to verify the present rules they have for exchanging paper tickets for tyvek

We have a package through UO, we will be at RP for 6 days, the package came with 4 day park to park, we will be there early enough arrival day to go to the parks and late enough on departure day also. Should we decide to do a fifth park day on one of those days how would that work. I do not see 5 day tickets as an option. I just thought if we had a fifth park day it would be nice to do the parks at a leisurely pace and get some pool time in everyday. I'm thinking it would be hard to get pool time in with four days as we are going Columbus Day week and the parks close early due to HHN and I've heard it can be very crowded that week. (Sat. Oct. 8th - Thurs. Oct 13th)

i'll be there during your same dates and also staying onsite.

you will see a crowded sat, sun, monday in the parks.
it eases off quite a bit on tuesday.
wednesday also a calm day until near closing time at 5 at the studios.

there are no 5 day park passes.

most go with an ap if they have 4 or more days for the parks.

i do not know the policy of how you can upgrade a package ticket set up.
Since you booked the UO package, contact them on if it is possible to upgrade to the ap.

package rules change and i have limited experience with them for the times i have done a package back in the dark ages.
